@AldyOutside4 жыл бұрын
Jason Burson yea totally I hear ya, thing is wood constantly swells and shrinks based on its moisture content (if were gettin technical lol) so I mean hell, if it sat there and got rain on er, it would swell, then dry out and shrink. Yep...the green treated decking boards I used horizontally on the walls of my treehouse shrank too once they dried out...have quarter inch gaps between all the boards...and they aren't even screwed to real trees (6" x 6" beams sunk into the ground vertically)...so I know the tree growth was a non factor. Besides, the trees moisture is in the roots during winter...so they're not growing right now.

As an experienced deer stand builder I can tell you that trees sway, and that is probably part of your structural problems. Just wait until you have leaves on the trees to catch the wind. Your four corners will twist and turn in some funky ways. If you really want to build a tree fort it sort of needs to float up in the tree, not totally secured in a typical fashion to a sturdy complete base. Good luck!

@jttech444 жыл бұрын
Yeah, winter air is much drier than it seems, drys those boards out good and proper. Lots of ways to fix what he has there though. Ship lap is probably the way to do it. The bigger problem is the tarps and keeping the trees together, and hopefully the roof is good-to-go.

6:19 I like that Steve only suspects that Crazy Neighbor was the one who built the bench from the treehouse scraps. They were the only two people we saw working on the treehouse in the video when it was being built. If not Steve or Crazy Neighbor, then who? Is somebody stealth building on Steve's acreage?

In my village in England, they reduced the price to £10 for 10 bottles per pack. I think they're desperate to sell it out as quickly as possible. Normally, it was expensive. On that note, just bought myself a pack and I'm gonna enjoy them. Bargain!

Seeing you standing in snow makes me smile. I’m in Fort Worth TX, and the trees are all blooming, Thursday (3 days ago) it was 86°f. My neighbors video captured a rat snake that was sneaking up the wall near their ring door bell 😂 all the wild life is in full spring mode, coyotes, squirrels, Jeffe the possum, and my wild birds. Wood peckers, Cardinals, Blue Jays, 3 pairs of Mouring Doves, etc. oh, THANK YOU for not sowing the “blood bath” my imagination fills in the blanks just fine. Stay warm and Hunkered Down!

Other channels I watch - I'm going to start this fire using a primitive now drill and wet wood. If that doesn't work I'll cheat and use this ferro rod. Steve - I brought along two gallons of cooking and oil and pack of sparklers its going to be lit. Haha I love it

Thank you Steve for your videos. I appreciate you taking the time to make these videos with everything that's going on around the world and you moving to your new home must be quite the stress. I have quite a bit of catching up with your old ones and the best part is I have a lot of time to watch 👍 I'm also very glad you've included atv in your video ( this is how me and buddies camp... ride to the Bush and set up before sunset) also, me and my wife will be waiting for your new ones every Thursday :-) Cheers bud * from friendly Manitoba*
