I've somehow managed to miss this video of you and Brucey. Having just watched it I must admit it's going to be one of my favourites. Because you set up in the dark it was a complete mystery as to where you were. What a wonderful surprise in the morning when we discovered just what a beautiful place you were camped, I absolutely loved it, so peaceful and lovely scenery. Brucey was in his element playing in the water and fetching his stick, it was hilarious when he managed to throw his stick onto the bank for you. Several thoughts. I really like the way you incorporate comfort with "roughing" it. I've been using tarps over my tents for decades although lately I have been using an EZ-UP canopy (do they have those in New Zealand?) over both the tent and for the bailey. Rather large footprint, 10x20 feet, but it is a lovely large space and easy to put up and take down. As for wool blankets, I use US military wool blend blankets; can be had inexpensively here and are quite warm. Sleeping; I either use an air bed or a cot, I don't like being on the ground. Seam sealing; ScotchGuard does a good job. Just spray it on. Bruce is truly a "good boy". Thank you for sharing your camping adventures with us!

What sets you apart from the rest is camping in the rain a lot and that you are not trying to be a die-hard survivalist. You are like the rest of us. It must rain a lot where you live. We are coming into our rainy season. I live right outside of Tampa Fl. USA and I would love to camp in the rain but Tampa is the lightning capital of our country and I have lived here all my life and when it starts you get inside. I love the rain it is my favorite sound and smell. I noticed in your videos that I don't hear any thunder or see any lightning. That to me must be AWESOME not to run and hide from big bolts of lightning. Anyways I find myself tunning into your camping in the rain videos more and more and want to thank you for doing a great job and just making people feel comfortable. Keep up the good work!

A tarp makes all the difference. On two separate occasions we rain into heavy rain on our camping trip. The second time I brought an extra tarp that we tied between two trees. It made all the difference between being either soaking wet or burnt from the sun. An neighboring camper had an expensive triangular tarp, but ours worked just all well and was larger for a lesser price! Smart 🏕 camping!🌅🎇💕🎆

I must say that you guys are blessed to have safe places to camp and you can camp anytime. With us, in South Africa where I am, it's not safe to go out to camp anywhere. We go to camping places and some are very expensive. I would want to take my tent and go. Enjoy
