Same. Retired 18 months ago and pictured myself just striking out on day trips or maybe short overnights. I really don't have the desire anymore because the societal respect and decency we used to take for granted has just been shredded. Even carrying a weapon doesn't do much good if you get ambushed.

This is absurd, millions of people camp each year without incident, you’re just watching a channel dedicated to covering the few cases where things go awry. I’ve been on thousands of solo camps and never had any trouble, except with raccoons taking my food in the middle of the night a couple years ago lol.

While I would not rule a human out, I think you all here are thinking with a narrow mind. There are possibilities that will sound wild, but trust me, things besides humans exist out there. Take a look (with an open mind) into Dogman. There is so much evidence. With thousands of reports yearly. The government, park rangers, military, are all very aware of this.

Thank you for the update and info. This case makes me think of the Australian case of the couple who went camping and were brutally killed by another camper who got mad about the drone the man from the couple had and was flying around the other campsites. It's certainly possible it was a stranger that was either mentally ill (think of the Appalachian Trail killer) or that ended up having beef with or some other senseless motive against Dustin. Like the case of a young man going fishing with his friends; on the way he stopped to buy some supplies and a bunch of awful guys saw him in the store and followed him to where he met up with his friends and savagely killed all of them. I get the psychology behind the assessment of it being a targeted attack, but it could still be a stranger that targeted him. Regardless, it's horrific and tragic all the way around. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Thanks again for the upload and all of your hard work, Bryan. P.S. Count me in on the giveaway, please. Thank you and bless you!

Scary, I live only about 3 hrs from there in Idaho, but this reads either psycho or someone he knew that knew where he would be, probably knew the area as well or followed him there. Some people commented on the guns he had to just go camping. I'm from MT originally and there and here in ID, we never go camping - anything out in the country, woods, etc without a firearm or 2- just the way it is here. But that being said, this is incredibly tragic, awful! I feel so bad for his family and hope this person is found soon! Thank you for this video Bryan!

Back In October I was stalked while dispersed camping. I always explore my surroundings and saw no signs of other camp areas or trails so knew or thought I was alone until I was ready to o to sleep and just as look out the window because I truck camp. I saw flashlight from 200 yards in a area where I was 100% certain no one could be there. I had no protection, and there's no signal to make a call. My gut told me time to leave. Because of that encounter, I take protection. It's not animals it's people you have watch out for. This sounds like he was being watched and was attacked when he was most vulnerable. I hope they find the killer. Prayers go out to the family. Thanks for sharing

From the moment he left from where he was at to the camping site, & watched him for awhile and waited for the right time to sneak into, his camp site to attack him, kill him & take his property for some reason but I don't know why someone would want to Harm him. But I do believe they followed him all the way to his camping site & just waited for the perfect time to attack him & they could have thrown his stolen Property into a nearby river to get rid of it just my opinion my name is Brave I live in California but I do believe they had some personal reason or anger against him for some personal reason.
