Nice camp with the nicest pile of firewood anyone would want. Always a good call when your dealing with lighting. It really hurts. ask me how I know. Good menue choice with the mashed potatoes. You can get real creative with them

Got out on the Au Sable for 5 solo overnighters last week. It couldn't have been better. Camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, exploring... such a beautiful location in the middle of the Huron Forest. Inspired by the banana man.

Hi Sam, you were wise to stay off of the lake during storms. I've crossed that lake in the past crossing from the Detroit River on my way to Put-In-Bay and Cedar Point. On good days it can get rough. Looking forward to your next adventure dude!

@@CampingwithSamBananas trolling and casting white, yellow and chartreuse mister twisters with 1/32, 1/16, 3/32if you can find them, and 1/8oz jig heads are the exact way to go about it. The heavier jigs for deep water and heavy current. If they don’t bite off this try the Ned rig which is a similar setup. Good luck

Really liked the video beach or island camping is my favorite camping these days, and your spot has a great view. I understand you not making it out to that island. I do most of my camping on islands in the lower Columbia River. Area is beautiful however if the wind kicks up and the tide is running hard you really don't want to make long runs in my 10 foot skiff. Hope to see you make it out to that island soon.

I think the fish you caught was a white perch. The white bass and white perch do look very similar. I could be wrong since it was hard to get a good look at it. Glad you caught something. Have NOT skipped ahead to see what happens but with severe weather threatening I don't think its a good idea to set up camp just feet from the waters edge! Might wake up being swamped by wind blown waves. But I’ll continue with the video and see what happens.

Generally the water levels on the shore don't change that much with rain, because it's such a massive body of water, but you're right. It's better safe, than sorry.
