We visit another primitive campground that has not re-opened yet, but is a great one to visit traveling through Monroe Va on the parkway. Although pricey at $20 a night for NO hook ups! This campground is worth a look anyway.

We stayed there many times during the 70s and 80s. My grandparents loved it so much! Many beautiful memories

This is Dean. I used to live in the mountains of North Carolina (not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway). One of my favorite places that I ever lived. Beautiful country! Thanks for sharing. I saw a couple of places that would be perfect for our truck camper. :)

Hey Dean great to hear from you my friend! Yes it is in fact beautiful country. We enjoy the parkway and all its beauty. There are many campgrounds along the parkway and several just outside of it that are very nice. Since we bought the van our camping style has changed quite a bit. Maybe you guys will travel the parkway someday? We look forward to catching up with y'all and camping someday. Stay safe and thank you for watching we appreciate the support. ~Paul

It's been so long since I have been in the Blue Ridge mountains. Hope to be up that way later this year. Otter Creek looks like a nice campground. It would be cool to actually see some otters there. It will be nice when they reopen. Debbie - BluWave Odyssey

We prefer these more primitive type campgrounds. We actually have several within one hour of home. Thank you for the kind words, but it’s like most things I do myself I am never happy, but as long as the viewers enjoy that’s all that matters. Thank you guys so much for your support!! ~Paul

I love the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lived close to it most of my life. Amazing drive up and down. Seems every place is very well done and has something to offer. Dang those are nice sites and yes take all that wood for sure. I hope that little restaurant opens back up. $20 a night is not to bad for the area. Man watching this makes me miss home. Thanks for sharing y'all. Great stuff.
@DreamingOutloudRVing4 жыл бұрын
I really wanted that wood for sure. I assume when they open the campers can burn it up maybe. The grounds are usually groomed very nice but with the current situation the workers have not been mowing. I feel $20 is a bit high for no hook ups, not to say we won’t stay there because we will. The restaurant is very neat and has a gift shop. It closed a couple years ago when the state made cuts. We never understand how they justify it. Hey thanks for watching guys we appreciate it so much! ~Paul

Desmond's Donders ..You must still be young. It sounds good during the daytime but at night it’s a whole ‘nother thang. When a person hits their 70s/80s, listening to that water run all night will likely have him/her sleeping on the commode with the bathroom wall as their pillow. Don’t ask me how I know, lol.
