We're Cherie & Chris and we've been full time technomads since 2006. We are owned by Kiki (meow).
We have a fleet of nomadic vessels that we split our time between - a 1961 GM 4106 vintage bus, a 1999 Bayliner 4788 motor yacht and a 2016 Travato 59G van conversion. You'll find RV, van and boat life content here, as we feel inspired to share - sometimes topical, sometimes travelogues, sometimes just hanging out.
We love sharing a slice of our life with others, and also blog at www.technomadia..., Facebook and Instagram. We use the name 'Technomadia' in all those places. Come join the adventure however you choose!
Income generation is NOT a goal of ours under the 'Technomadia' brand - we do this for fun. While not an expectation, sharing the love back sure keep us inspired to keep sharing. Ways you can say thanks here: www.technomadia... (but honestly, leaving comments is awesome!)
Our full time 'job' is running the Mobile Internet Resource Center, where we track and educate RVers and cruisers on their options for keeping connected. Come join us at www.MobileInter... for news, guides, reviews and courses. We also have a dedicated KZbin channel / mobileinternetresource... you can subscribe to. Through member funding, we can give away a lot of free content - and our members get even more.

Nice tips. I’ve lived in NC for 40 years and have done parts of the BRP countless times. Now with a 21ft van I plan to do a week long full drive of it. I have stayed at Linville Falls, just off the parkway.

It is stunning to outlanders how deep and wild are the Southern Highlands of NC. LIke the last truly wild parts of the east coast. The western parts of NC are high and wild, remote and different. Few know that NC is the highest point east of the Mississippi. Think Raleigh and Charlotte and you have missed the most spectacular part of the entire east coast. I married a girl from those endless mountains more than 60+ years ago. Her family reached back into 1827. There is or was a mountain culture which is engaging and real. It is not just the trees. There is much more beneath the canopy.

Hey Chris and Cherie! Thanks so much for this video. We are going home from New Jersey and want to take the Blue Ridge Parkway route. I remembered that you had done it and found this video with exactly what I wanted to know! Hope our paths cross again someday.

Did the entire length of the BRP with our 18' long 7' wide travel trailer during summer of 2020, very glad we did it before we traded up to a 34' trailer that's also served as my home office. While the space in the larger trailer is nice there are a few things you give up, tighter camping spots and twisty mountain roads are 2 of them! Btw for anyone who hasn't been I highly recommend the parkway, beautiful relaxing drive and much less crowded than many of the other parks.

Great video with great advice. Blue Ridge Parkway is beautiful, but camping out there can be interesting.

Thanks, I'll be there in 6wks for fall color, and I'll be in a 32' Class A. A real white knuckler is the Calif Hwy 1 south of Monterey, going South. I was OK with it, my wife wasn't. Your tip on the campgrounds helped, Thx. We'll plan to stay at commercial campgrounds off the parkway. It appears the whole parkway is stuck in the '40s. So much for the designer's forethought. We read about the undersized tunnels in the southern section, Thx. We'll be driving that last 10mile section of the BRP separately in our CRV when camping near Ashville, NC. We're good with 13', so not such a problem with our Class A. You can see each of the tunnel specs online in the NPS BRP website.

If it's life changing and I been on it twice does that mean I changed back the second time? I don't know. I've done it both times on a motorcycle. I can say that the parkway itself is a very relaxing ride on a motorcycle. The northern part, actually Skyline Drive, not so much. Skyline Drive is much much more technical and frankly I really didn't enjoy it that much on the motorcycle, too much concentration on the road and not much on the scenery. I will go again, but I'm not sure how. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
