For what it's worth.. I've been following you for years, and these field-based videos showing you out in nature and focused outside of the normal KZbin grind are always my favorites. It's like we're brought along for the ride while you explore two things you're so obviously passionate about (nature and photography). I'm deeply in love with both subjects, but don't work the sort of career that let's me enjoy them as often as I'd like. Your videos give me that sense of connection despite being stuck in a corporate office.

Fabulous video again Tom. I love the camping videos. Your original wild camping video is what inspired me to start my wild camping youtube channel. There's no finer feeling than opening your tent overlooking the fells and lakes. I've only recently begun to take the photography side of things a little more seriously. Great tips as always...Oh and well jealous of the camper. 😀. Thanks for sharing. Paul

I set my gear up to capture a waterfall in The Rockies a couple of weeks ago and had in mind for a long exposure but didn't bargain on wind blowing the lovely colourful trees and I got wound up by the slightest breeze blurring the a tree I had prominently in the composition. Got home and on reviewing the shots and I'm most happy with the blurriest; as you said it was the colour that mattered not the clarity of a single leaf. If only I'd seen this vid beforehand I could have saved myself some serious angst. Great work once again Tom :)

The big suction camera mount in your windscreen is illegal by the way. You need to mount it so the cups are outside the sweep of the wiper blades. You are only permitted a maximum of 40mm diameter of obscured area in the swept area of the screen. Basically the size of the old tax disc holder, for obvious reasons.

My own passion for photography is really about capturing hiking and camping experiences - so I really appreciate and admire these videos especially. An area that challenges me on my longer trips is the weight of gear. Mostly, I just don't worry and carry a little heavy - however, the tripod has long been the one item that challenges me. I recently picked up a special tripod head plate that allows me to use my hiking poles as two of the legs and a pole as the third. I'd be interested in hearing your take on lightweight tripods and their alternatives (like Gorillapods). The item I used on my lasts two week-long hikes was called the TrailPix Ultralight tripod.

You don’t know until you go. It matters not the quantity of images but the quality and I would say that the one image is a nice image but shouldn’t be the determining factor of the success of the outing. Getting out and hanging with a good friend whilst doing what you love is worth far more than a fistful of images.

Rydal water car park...Derwent water??? Portrait of a birch tree, 1:1 square crop...mostly...works best for trees. Love the camping concept for weight saving. Not too sure about the rehydrate food though...rather bring some sandwiches; and beer of course. Great to see you don't simply boost the ISO to get the shot. Square crop = square space, more squareness than you could shake stick at. Gotta keep your sponsor happy man, you almost forgot to include them in the first part of the video anyway. Thanks Tom for sharing and all you do for photography + creative inspiration.

I see what you were going for with the lower contrast/clarity ethereal look, but I think it's overcooked (or maybe the scene was naturally overcooked). The softness from the leaves takes away the little contrast left. I think the photo could use some more dynamic range with some deeper tones.
