We had a 3 room tent at one time, I remember us setting it up at 1:00am using headlights for lighting. We woke to squirrels throwing pinecones at our tent. My brother left his bagels out and the Chipmunks got to them, I covered up stuff because they will also eat TP and Paper towels. I was fixing Breakfast Burritos and a Chipmunk reached into the skillet and got him some breakfast too 🥰🌹🤣

We used to feed the chipmunks at the hospital I worked at lunch time. They loved French fries. We had them here at home but the stray kitties took care of them. Haven't seen any lately.

We had a big fan Prairie Dog at the VA in the Picnic Area that our kids would feed Popcorn to.🌹Then up at the family cabin in Gunnison Colorado we had a Chipmunk that would come to the wood pile by the door. I would give him Bread and Tortillas 😁 I named him Buddy. When we would go fishing at Pagosa Springs Colorado my husband would be sitting there trying to fish and this one Chipmunk would just jabber away at him 😁

There used to be an old water tower just above D loop. Some not so nice people would shot holes into it with guns. The maintenance man ( most likely Tommy ) would have to climb up and fill the holes by pounding wooden plugs into them. The wood would swell and stop the leak. The were torn down for safety reasons and were no longer needed as they switched to treated water made within the park ( lake water) my job for 25 years.

This video was perfect. Brings back great memories of tent camping and cooking on the campfire. That turkey was living dangerously, to sit right in the campfire pit. Thanks for an excellent job. I really enjoyed this.

Cliff thanks for bringing back a great memory for me. Back in 1961 my family camped there on our first night on our trip to SD and Colorado. We had a 9x9 canvass umbrella tent. The canvass air mattresses my sister and I had to blow up with a foot pump. Camping gear has come along ways.

Oh my goodness that Turkey. The irony of him sitting in a fire pit. He's a little early. We had turkeys attack the wheels on my car out at the Gap turning into the National Cemetery. We had to stop so we didn't hit one of them. The male turkey of the pack seen his image and attacked my wheels. The rest of the turkeys surrounded us. There is a group of 11 or so that roost in that area. We let him do his attack and we blew the horn to get him to go away. He chased us down the drive into the Cemetery. Crazy turkeys. I love watching them. You were lucky to have his company and he was lucky to have met and be filmed by the Wandering Woodsman.

If I had known you were there, I would have brought you fire wood. It is very busy in the summer. Camping, swimming, fishing, people checking out the flower reserve area and touring the building there. Picnics, volleyball on the beach area, family reunions, and boating. Renting one of the bikes there for on the water is also fun. We just about lived there when raising our family. Boy, the fish we ate out of that lake was delicious! If you can get hold of some Postum for drinking, that is good. I get mine from Amazon. I bought those fire colors for my kids at x-mas. They went camping this past weekend....hope they had a chance to use it. Glad you didn't run into any of our bears. Plenty of turkeys, deer, coyotes, and critters galore around these parts. This is your best video yet!

Yes, I have the Jackery 240 also but with solar panels. After a night of use, you have to charge the next day. You can charge while driving since you don't have solar. You can charge it faster by plugging in your inverter and plug in your ac brick and charge like that also. Nice park!

Cliff really like all your adventures , glad to see you doing a drip coffee instead of instant . I and Consumer Report recommend an Aero Press coffee press . use at home also . only makes one cup . have mine with sugar in the raw , it makes instant more palpable .
I would suggest making some little baggies of dried fruits Rasins appricots prunes cranberries, and nuts almonds walnuts etc....to add to your oatmeals. Good energy and nutrition.

Been watching you for years. Love your videos Cliff. I’ve been an herbalist for about 25 yrs and yes dandelion is good your you, but I never liked that coffee substitute. How did you like it? You never said in the video. Maybe I’ll try it again and maybe it’s an acquired taste. Hope your well and again love the videos. Good health.

Gonna be honest, I was secretly hoping the turkey would turn out to be a horror story line. Like, it disappears from the spot it was sitting in, then late in the night you hear spooky gobbling outside the tent, and it gets closer and closer. The story would have to end with you sitting around the table eating a Thanksgiving dinner in early June though 🤣 Awesome video, been enjoying your channel for a while now I just forget to comment. I am here in Ohio, right next door, maybe sometime we could meet up and collab on something! Take care!
