Lovely vlog! A tip for next time.. 1/2 cook the potatoes in the microwave (steam with a bit of water) before you go.. then add butter, salt and wrap in tin foil while warm. Then put into the fire coals straight away when you start the fire.. they will be ready much quicker eg 30-45mins (jacket potatoes from raw in foil take hours in the oven to!). An impressive set-up for 1 night!

I love camping up north here in Michigan. We have a campground that has sites directly on the water over looking the Mackinaw Bridge. It’s heaven. Have to book ahead because they do go so fast. I would also avoid visiting that area until July. May flies are everywhere in May and June. Glad you all were safe and had so much fun. Thank you for sharing your joys with us all, Allison. 🌷

And as of tomorrow I'll be officially moved in with my boyfriend and his roommate and his girlfriend. I'm so excited for all of this to come together! wow the plate is such a sweet thank you! let us know if he sells them online! I am sure you can use it for food, just wipe off and no soaking and no dishwasher, then oil as needed if there isn't a finish on it. you are so good at creating beautiful gatherings!

Allison, Just a suggestion when baking potatoes while camping. Bake them half way through at home, then they won't take so long at the campsite. Oh and absolutely! We have raccoons where we live and they bring bottles of drink, plastic flowers, yea they have there own idea of decor! Make sure to bear proof and raccoon proof for next time. A container that can't open.

I am not sure how long the potatoes sat on the grate, but I think they cook faster if they are directly in the fire. What a sweet weekend adventure.

Your focus on being present in the season inspired me to make a spring bucket list, and last night I checked one of my bucket list items (seasonal baking) off by making a strawberry chamomile olive oil cake with honeyed ricotta from half baked harvest. I mention the name specifically because it was incredible and it perfectly embodies the spring season. I highly recommend you try it out 🤍🌸

We stayed in 22 The raccoons roam in hostile gangs and will push on your tent for a few days until they figure out theirs nothing to steal also the mosquitos are feirce other then that Anastasia is amazing and the Rangers are great! You can hear the music from the amphitheatre and saturdays theirs a farmers market
