I have enjoyed your videos for years and always longed for adventure. More and more my daydreaming tries to imagine an opportunity similar to the life you live. There is this mindset of freedom with limitations esp in the US and when it comes to homesteading, bushcraft, and self-reliance. I feel like Canadians have the upper hand with lands and even crown lands. This video is so awesome! You shared a special memorial experience with your daughter that encompasses the very essence of freedom and discovery on a "seemingly" untouched end to end beautiful land. It feels like every parent would love nothing more than to write a moment in the ring of time with their own children such as you have shared with us,your channel, and Emily's channel!

Great family adventures I remember going on canoe trips in northern Ontario with my dad, mom, my brother and sister. We had Spaghetti and canned beans, found wild apples berries and wild greens. If we caught a fish that was tasty. We had a few ruck sacs a tent and 2 canoes. Out for a week. Dodging waves too sometimes. Good video. Don't lose your paddle 😊

Great comparison with the eggs. We raise our own hens and the fresh eggs are so different to the store bought eggs. Difference in taste and look, also fresh egg white is so much more viscous that the store eggs which can be hanging around for such a long time.

Hi Shawn, can I ask a question? I have been considering a carnivore diet for about a year - only to get the idea knocked down by my doctor. In any case, I will decide for myself when the time is right. I have always loved fruit and veg as well as meat. My question is....why are you eating berries rather than vegetables? I understand the concept that vegetables have toxins due to their survival needs, but is that not the same as berries? I love berries as much and vegetables, so I won't find that difficult. I have a mulberry tree in my Dad's backyard. I am trying to educate myself on why I am doing things. I really would appreciate your advice. Regards, Kerri 🇦🇺

Fruit wants to be eaten so that the seeds are spread for reproduction. Vegetables don’t work that way. The seeds in fruit however do contain anti nutrients so that they remain viable. Raspberry seeds for example are high in oxalates but most of them pass through your digestive system intact. If you eat less than about 50 grams in carbohydrates each day, your body will run on ketones, which I find to be the most energetic and least inflammatory for me. Usually I eat more fruit and dairy than that so I’m operating on glucose like most people, but without the inflammation that comes with alcohol, rancid oils, seeds and plant anti nutrients. I’ll cycle between the two to remain metabolically flexible

I'm keto year and a half, carnivore for half a year. Just do it, the doctors are clueless. If you are worried (I was for sure starting out) then more research will help. Dr Ken Berry, Dr Chaffee, Dr Westmoreland, Beef and Butter Gal, Dave Mac are all good KZbin channels. In my case I reversed prediabetes, hypertension stage two, clinical tachycardia, autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, and a bunch of other ailments I thought were just old age. On carnivore I no longer get sore working out or get sunburn, two oddities that tell me plants aren't good for me even with carbs limited on keto.

@ShawnJames1 Thank you for your reply and the information. That makes sense. Here in Australia, the Aboriginals used to be nomadic, and mainly ate meat (kangaroos, snakes, emu, fish etc) and forage wild berries. And they only caught what they needed. I really think that the carnivore diet with wild berries and fruits makes a lot of sense for a healthy life. Thanks again for the info. You are looking very healthy. Kerri 😀

Hi to both of you. Could you talk more about why you decided to have meat a the real source of your food? Thanks.
@ShawnJames14 ай бұрын
Most people, including me in the past, don’t consume enough full spectrum amino acids (complete protein) in a day to maintain muscle and meat and other animal products are the best source by far for that. Meat is anti inflammatory for pretty much all humans but very one of us has some kind of negative reaction to most plants, even if it’s subtle. The older (and bigger) you get, the more those toxins bioaccumulate. Rather than fill up on less desirable calories l I’ve opted for consuming only the most energy/micronutrient dense foods.
