"Hinge cutting is a tree-felling technique that leaves a portion of the trunk intact to create a hinge. The tree remains alive after the cut because the cambium layer, which transports water and nutrients, is left unbroken. The hinge cut creates a horizontal habitat structure that provides food and cover for wildlife."

This is beautiful! The moose and baby! My Mother would say she fed the birds so there would be a place in heaven for her. I think you have your place. I lived seaside in MA where they were chopping down animal habitats and building. Having lived in MA suburbs all my life, I was shocked to see and feel the vibration of a large buck galloping across my front lawn. Sometimes they would swim from Deer Island in Boston Harbor. We just started to see coyote and fox of course rabbits and skunk ( my beagle could never resist a skunk) and raccoons prior to moving 4 yrs ago. I felt sad because they had nowhere to go. Watched a very smart doe keep her fawn safe by turning around and not crossing a busy road. Merry Christmas to you and your family from the subtropics of SW Florida.

This shows that you are not just taking but also giving something back to nature. Thank you very much. My question? Would it be possible for you to build a covered feeding station? @@Becky936 Well, parks advisories have always been not to feed the bears or wildlife yet with the use of self justifying labels its okay to dump 2000 lbs of carrots in the woods outside parks " 'cause its my land and I can do what I want'. Same with the word "harvesting" used by hunters who shoot way more animals as guides or as supposedly doing great things by controlling the wolf populations?
