wingman, i've owned 3 houses. last house i bought was 30 years ago leaving me with two in different states. the most i paid was $87k and each time i hired my own lawyer and home inspector. if i were spending tens of thousands on a camper i'd at a minimum get it inspected prior to signing anything or giving out any money.

I have a very low opinion of camping world my very own brother who spent a half $1 million for a coach said oh my next stop is camping world and he went there and they sold him all kinds of things that he didn’t even need but they made him believe that You’re an RVer now and this is what you need to have. ( a bag of plastic leveling blocks for a coach with an air leveling system, rip off ) I am so disappointed I will never spend a dime at camping world personally. Thomyt

I think it was this channel, but a man came on here to tell a story that he saw a camper at a great price tag at CW. Saw it, loved it and wanted to buy it cash and they told him the price tag was only if you took out a loan via them. He asked to see the paperwork and realized the interest rate was either really high or began low and went high, but the big thing was he couldn't pay it off early without a penalty. He didn't buy the rv because the deal was not for cash buyers. Strange.

CW is a monopoly in many areas of the country. Yes, they suck. But, so do most RV manufacturers so maybe it's a match made in heaven.

Owned several units we purchased from a local family owned dealer. However we also bought one Class A from CW in 2014, made the mistake of signing an agreement for an ESP under duress for several thousand dollars while I was in the sales manager's office (we were trading one unit in that we lived in and needed to finish the deal and move everything to the Class A before they closed for the day so yes it was a stressful day and I wasn't as sharp as I should have been) lesson learned the hard way, but never again. Almost bought a Cougar 260MLE at the Hershey show, but CW (but also Keystone) did soooo stupid with the pricing when we came back to sign on day 2 that we left the show and drove back home. The good thing about that is that we discovered how dishonest CW, but also the majority of rv dealers are. But CW has the crown of dishonesty, for sure !! Would I ever buy at CW, NO, would I still look for a Keystone product, probably not.

The new adds shown on KZbin commercials highlights Camping World in a good light. Marketing is why. Now this Texas dealer I was talking & texting with sounded honest, but when later, I looked closer, I was charger for Texas taxes for dealers and NOT for consumers. The Texas dealer manager kept telling me " since you are a New Mexico resident.. " I'm not an NM resident," I live in the Pacific Northwest, at the moment . There's a laundry list of questionable taxes, fees, etc... and yes, they did get some money from me, but , lesson learned, you really can't trust many people. My Texas dealer isn't Camping World, but it's probably an associate.

I am also an "old school" conservative from the Midwest. Unfortunately, it is usually the "liberals" who take action against corrupt businessmen. Most consumer protection laws come from pinko states like California and New York. Or in this case, Oregon.

Use to be a fan of CW. Seems to me they went downhill when they got heavily involved in RV sales. The prices they charge for camping supplies are not all that great.

Has Lemonis weighed in or apologized? The Indiana manufacturers treat him like a God. Seems the public persona of Marcus Lemonis is entirely different than the sleazy sales culture and tactics engrained at Camping World. I don’t watch him anymore for this reason. I don’t trust him.

camping world bailed a lot out of trash dealers and it wore off to them going down tubes. That should be lesson to La Mesa to start packing their bags. It is not over yet for them.

CW does a lot things consumers like. CW sales are up double digits in what most consider a tough RV market. CW now has the HIGHEST market share of new RVs by far. No other dealer comes even close.

No way I wouldn't buy from Camping world..there are great small RV dealers in your area, will give you a great deal
