With the updated Level 3 COVID-19 regulations meaning we can now go camping, albeit only within our own province (inter-provincial travel being still prohibited), we head out to Kyleu Bush Camp for our first weekend away since March. Kyleu is an unfenced bush camp within Dinokeng Game Reserve, the only free-roaming Big 5 park within the borders of Gauteng, South Africa.

We spent an awesome week her in Feb this year and didn't hear much noise from the township. Absolutely loved it there!

Thanks for the feedback! It's a great camp. I expect that there would be very little, if any, noise during the week. It wasn't that loud for me, but it really depends on how sensitive one is to noise. We will be back there in future.

Great review, we are from Pta and looking exactly for that 50/50 type of camping that you recommend here.....but a ground tent in Big 5 area...not sure if SWAMBO will be ok with that one!!!

Yip, that's why we used the rooftop tent and parked close to the bathroom 😅

Perhaps also consider Syringa Sands and/or Waterberg Wildernis. Not Big5, but both have private ablutions and no electricity. Both about a 3h drive from Pta.
