I had the same sinking feeling when I heard of the tornado at the BVJ as I did about the tornado in Edmonton in 1987. I was living in Edmonton when that one hit. 27 people were killed.Things destroyed can be replaced, lives can not. My heart sank when I heard someone had died at the BVJ. I didn't see how close Kevin Costner and Modern West were to the storm. I am glad that KC and band made this video. You people have heart. Im sure if you hear a sound or the wind picks up you are on your toes.

Hey Kevin and Modern West. I was at BVJ when the storm hit, we were lucky enough to be be okay and have nothing lost but our chairs. We were in the Bar at karaoke getting ready to leave to come watch you guys, i told my mom and friends that we have to go now, i knew the storm was going to be bad, and before we could leave the wall hit us and we were trapped in the bar. All we could hear were screams that was one of the scariest moments of my life. good luck this weekend! Rock it out on stage!

I was a stage hand around 92-93 at the same site..... big rock show, Def Leppard on Canada Day. Super nice hot July day..... out of nowhere these creepy clouds appeared, started to funnel up. Huge wind and massive hail stones came down. The tarps were ripping off and flapping in the wind, the light trusses were swinging like mad and you could feel the whole stage moving..... I got the fuck off the stage and as far away as I could. As fast as this weird storm had brewed in, it left and returned to sunny, hot weather. There's just something not right with this site sitting there on Highway 13.

It sucks i almost died that day and im sorry for the ones who someone lost the lady crushed by a speaker and the little girl that passed away in my buddys arms on the way to the hospital i remember that day like it was yesterday

I worked at the CRE. Believe me, weather aside, they didn't seem to care about the events, just do it quick. It isn't surprising to hear this years after I leave. I applied to work there as a full time employee, but they chose the idiots who cut corners and worked faster.
