Tip: Given that it is vital that no sealant gets into the 4 oil drain channels (behind the front camshaft oil seals) in the front camshaft bearing cross-member (into which the VVT solenoids fit) when sealing the cross-member as a whole, I have found that if you put some strong twine (string) in these oil drain channels when replacing it, wait until the sealant dries (24 hrs) then pull the string out, this ensures that these drain channels remain unblocked by sealant. The camshaft oil seals can be inserted carefully from the front afterwards.

How are you lining up the cam pulley back correctly on installation? Neither pulley is keyed and we can not get the car to start after engine swap and timing belt swap.

When I went to pull out the intake side VVT solenoid I broke the housing. Can that housing, which also houses upper half of cam shaft seals, be purchased separately?

The 2 camshaft timing belt sprocket bolts are Torque To Yield bolts (as are cylinder head and other bolts and others in engines these days) that stretch to maintain tension. They often break if you try to use them again.

@@berniegrunhaus3899 sorry man this was a very long time ago and the photos I had were on a different phone which is not longer working , you can get the part numbers by simply calling your local dealer and giving them your chassis vin number of the car , they will tell you the part numbers for the cams
