I wanna see in the future, the controler of the standing desk in the desk 🔥🔥
@camshand9 ай бұрын
Yeah man it's happening! I do need to figure out how I can recreate the buttons to not be black but also keep the 7 segment display for height readout and settings. Might have to solder onto the existing circuit board and re-route to new parts, or see if I can maybe make new buttons for the controller that are white. (lol just thought I can even paint or make stickers for over them). heck literally writing this to you I've thought of a few new ways, thanks! haha

Appreciate your support 😁 I could never imagine the level of interest in this build, it was a far off idea until I thought "why not just try and make it". Stoked that it's working out so far. Currently editing a vid on the next piece of tech that will be added into the desk.

Mate your videos are top notch. I've been wanting to do the same thing to my desk - so this review is such perfect timing. I've put in a 3camels alert for these legs.
@camshand9 ай бұрын
I put a crazy amount of time into making the vids so appreciate your acknowledgment 🤩 yeah adding standing desk legs is such a great easy upgrade (unless you have a custom V-Slot frame then it's not easy haha). 3camels is great, hopefully you get that notification soon!

We all start somewhere man! a vesa clamp on monitor arm, some speakers stands or a headphone hook can spice up your existing tech really easily. start with the small custom mods that bring big value 🤙

@KillandMilproduction9 ай бұрын
I am taller at 6'2 and when i first setup my standing desk i needed it at full height which is 115 and i didnt really think about my pole monitor arm which promptly went through the ceiling in the most perfect of circular punch-out's.
@camshand9 ай бұрын
hahhaa ohhh no! how fricking tall is your monitor arm? have you got like 3 monitors stacked on top of each other? that's so unlucky!

I really enjoy these builds. Was also just looking at a standing desk too. Might just get the legs!

Yeah so much cheaper to find legs that have the features you need and then buy a solid wood kitchen benchtop.

glad to hear you're enjoying it! Take as many ideas as you need, I do have previous setup tour videos. and also recommend checking out my wall mounted TV setup, also shown in my latest Soundbar VS Hometheatre video. It's the small details that really make tech in your home flow

I did wonder if that was going to be an option for your desk in the future. Nice work man,
@camshand9 ай бұрын
Yeah man, making those metal supports in the frame extend beyond the drawers was a subtle change that really unlocked the compatibility. Now to figure out how to mount the controls into the desk without the black buttons but keeping the screen.
@SenZubEanS9 ай бұрын
Can you just solder on another display and get some this that fits the aesthetic better?

Nice build! I have a sim rig made with 8020 but never thought of using it for a desk. How did you decide on the Aimezo brand or are they all similar quality and just choose by spec?

Oo Sh&* i dont have that box horizontal at all, no clue that was a thing haha, Great vid Cam. What do you think of the desk frame? I personally really like incorporating the legs Motors into the desktop so it doesnt have that frame underneath.
@camshand9 ай бұрын
yeah it's strange they say both need to be horizontal, I'd have presumed just one but either way mine for sure has a gyro in something haha. as for the frame that goes between the legs and motors, it's super useful for a wooden desktop. especially the IKEA tops which are a wood veneer over cardboard hexagons inside. So it's vital for bracing weaker tops. If I didn't do a transparent top then I for sure would have designed a way to recess the motors up a bit and not require the centre bracing, but for my lighting it needs the desktop to be hollow.

@camshand9 ай бұрын
Dropped a link in the description for you, it's the Gravastar Mercury M1 Pro. It's their first ever mouse, cast aluminum which makes for a very premium feeling shell. Performance has been good so far, but grip did take a bit to get used to since I have large hands. Follow me on Instagram as I'll be dropping a short review there once I've finished testing it out.

@camshand9 ай бұрын
oh the drawers are staying, waay to handy to have cables and other tech at arms reach whilst keeping the desktop clean and tidy. They're just no longer supporting the top, but no reason yours can't

And I thought my built in desk was cool.. I was wrong. Amazing. I'm going to rip my office apart.
@camshand9 ай бұрын
hahaha dude everyone's setups are amazing in their own way. Legit my teenage setup was a random desk and speakers from a garage sale with a laptop. It's taken about a 6 years to upgrade each part. it's only now I'm able to make the desktop and have the tech to put inside it. No doubt take this series as inspo, but also enjoy your own creations!

@camshand9 ай бұрын
hahahaa I've actually thought of that many times, to even code a custom avatar face to animate on a display when ChatGPT responds. But I'm also quite skeptical of the level in which AI should play in my creative ventures. So for now, it'll stay as a possibility 😉
