I wrote a book sorry I had a lot to say about what you said, so I just started making notes. 12:00 that we can all come to a consensus about this without having to explain, this is one of the most interesting and beautiful aspects of the science. We all know that there must be some principle uniting the whole scheme for us each to know the all from our own viewpoint. It’s something that makes this community like no other. On the topic of community, this community, though going through this Saturn in Aquarius restriction, Has more to make it a community many others. This is a community united by real understanding. We can be much more of a community than many so-called communities! We should define the way we will platform ourselves while Saturn is still in Aquarius. (And try to be open minded about it lmao) 18:10 Since astrology will only get more popular, don’t we have a responsibility to make it accessible to the people in general without compromising its integrity? Because we all intuitively understand, and more than intuitively, that this science has a bedrock foundation. What does it mean for astrology to be good and useful to the general public? What does that mean as far as logistics, platforming, self-regulation of the science etc. It’s interesting that astrology is so associated with all of the other sciences from antiquity, being one of the seven liberal sciences. How does astrology redadapt itself to the modern materialist paradigm? As far as therapy, astrology explains the deep issues that people are encountering, which creates a stage for empathy and compassion for suffering people. It can show you why you are going through something. 19:54 this is real!! I think the difficulty is partially that certain realities of the science God will conceal, and generally has concealed in various ways throughout history. I mean, in the sense that a lot of astrology is principal insight, which can’t be apprehended except from your perspective. 22:24 exactly, it’s very isolating, you can’t just make someone understand it, especially if you’re living in your home down lmao. I think this is highlighting our responsibility as a community to unite as a community. Things are more or less restrictive, but I think it’s also a chance to restructure that way we can make these connections. Like you said in the past, Saturn and Venus sort of have a thing together. 26:10 I so agree, one of our greatest explanations for why astrology is true is that it always works so well. It just takes understanding the mechanics. We astrologers all use the same principles, and we have more or less understanding of them. But you get to the point where you realize that astrology is always describing everything perfectly, if only we knew. Classical mechanics is very much the same way. Actually, Isaac newton knew, but he saw the trend of the Times and wrote his science, his public science that way. You’ve been hitting the ascendant is not a sun sign in your recent videos, and I think we have a duty to educate the public on the principles of astrology. It’s very inaccessible, even if you are explain it very well. It’s hard to see that many moving parts. I’m amazed every time I go into an auto parts store, because car mechanics have remained one of the most elusive things to me. I go into the store and it all looks like Japanese, nonsense. As a therapist myself, I agree that therapy is trash a lot of the time. Not only is it not accessible for many people, there are many bad therapists who don’t have cultural competence and don’t use evidence based practices. I will say though, I had a therapist that introduced me to astrology which is one of the reasons I went in to mental health.

Totally agree with the evidence! Example Mars in Cancer watched another astrologer talk about this placement and said that at some point in their lifetime they become estranged from their parents! Light bulb moment exactly what happened with my stepson ... with his Dad and then his Mother ! Freaks me out our daughter has the same placement and just got in some serious trouble at school and I’m watching her now thinking ... it’s quite possible this may seriously be coming up for her and us as parents! 🤦‍♀️

Cam, as a 3H Leo Sun, I can listen to you talk for hours. Not only am I happy you've started a podcast, but I'm sooooo glad you addressed these topics! I wish I could talk about them with you face to face, but for now I will leave a long comment! 😅 As a 9H Aquarius Saturn, the struggle has been real. I grew up Catholic in my 2nd language and hated it. My skepticism led me to atheism by age 9. When I found astrology at 19, it is the reason I'm not an atheist anymore. Atheism and nihilism were so fucking toxic because my life and death had no meaning. I grew out of it, but I have friends who didn't. Some of them are sadly resting in peace now, and others have been on the edge for years. A lot of these people are space nerds like us, but because there is no supporting evidence, most people dismiss astrology, and it secretly eats at me because being evangelical goes against my values. I'm 27 now, and have noticed the pattern that often, when I get on board with a new income opportunity, I've missed the boat to thrive by a few years. Starting work at 16 during a recession, working for failing corporations, being too scared to start a YT channel 10 years ago, so I decided to start my own small art business when I was 22. I've been gradually studying astrology since 19, but being an astrologer was NOT part of my 5 year plan... or any plan. Only when Saturn entered Aquarius last year did it finally hit me that I should pursue professional astrology because of my love for it. Now that I've made that decision, I'm trying to put together a professional spiritual practice and writing it out on my website. But the skepticism that comes with my past & 9H Saturn has me constantly trying to prove, defend, and validate this shit. I can hear all the people I know and grew up with in my head challenging astrology. So I watch every video and podcast or read every article I come across on the validity of astrology for when that moment comes. This podcast is a new one that I am so grateful for. You spoke to so much frustration I haven't been able to fully express, and spoke SO MUCH truth that I had to write down. Of course, meme astrology is one of the reasons it's becoming so popular, but I lost interest years ago. I don't want to support it or share it. Yes it's entertaining, maybe helpful. Sometimes it's accurate, sometimes it isn't, but it is not real astrology and people think it is. Memes are often how newcomers are being introduced to astrology and where the bias and prejudice come from. It's doing a disservice to how much work & how helpful real astrology is. Like how many times have you rolled your eyes at the same damn Leo stereotypes knowing how nuanced being a Leo (or any sign) actually is??? As for your target audience, I have gotten my boyfriend into astrology enough that his interest in it surprises me. But you and him are fans of Tim Dillon and Attack on Titan so idk. I haven't faced criticism from anyone yet, but I am certainly preparing for the moment I will have to! Thank you for starting this conversation, Cam. Thanks for defending astrology. There are so many misconceptions about astrology because the “pop culture” understanding really is too simplistic and I understand why people “don’t believe” in it. However, REAL astrology (which incorporates the time of birth and all the planets, aspects and signs) is much more of a mathematical science. Most people can understand how our environment affects us (music, people, weather, etc) but for some reason we can’t understand how the sun and moon can impact you? So weird to me. I listen to you at 1.5x speed so talk as much as you want lol I have a few bones to pick like you said lol but I’ll just focus on the point I don’t think astrology needs defense, I think it needs social-level structuring, organizing, and marketing. We’re not gonna get anywhere arguing one-on-one with NDT and co. We look like we’re reactionary and defensive and we have no reason to be (because we're right). The spiritual aspects are valuable but this is also a valuable service! There IS a demand for astrology and there’s probably a better way to meet it. Stepping into that gap inherently gives us credibility and authority. I think of like… big fashion labels and the subsequent rise of department stores and boutiques. I make the comparison bc Fashion can get VERY technical, but the populace only operates on what’s seasonally relevant or upcoming, much like astrology. You can shop according to your budget, for special events like weddings you go to someone specific, you freshen up what you have as you change. Your style is personal and makes a huge statement about how people first see you. The boom of astrology goes unmentioned because it’s happening thru hustle culture and is driven by scholars doing translation work and BIPOC/LGBT youth (with lots of overlap there). There’s incredible work being done, but most of it lives on social media. There’s no notion of Your Local Astrologer the way there is of Your Local Church/Chabad. (There’s also societal-level -isms at play but I feel like that’s a whole separate conversation) You’re right in that twitter is not a sustainable method for conversation, but it’s also not a sustainable method for marketing. Neither is IG. And definitely not fuckin TikTok. None of it is because it depends on you being a part of those circles already. Even astrologers who have websites, I had to find thru twitter. I have no idea what kind of specializations the astrologer I’m about to speak to has, if we’re gonna vibe, and honestly, sometimes I read some of y’all’s descriptions of offerings and it’s SO vague unless you’re already into astrology. Patrick Watson has one of the more robust websites and foundational information. There’s no centralized repository of information, no network, it’s not easy for the average person to get curious except through sun-sign astro and Cafe Astrology. I don’t even SEE a big name like Chani on the first few pages of a google search of “astrology”. Brenner’s podcast doesn’t show up until page 6. Until someone specifically TOLD me about traditional astrology, I had NO way of knowing astrology had a branch that talked about tangible effects and lived beyond the psychosomatic “you just have to think your way out of this transit” in pop astro. Additionally, while I know that astrology is deeply spiritual, and it allows that expression in ways organized religion often doesn’t, and overlaps with a lot of personal development, etc., it’s very hard for, say, a finance guy to grasp it. The tangible effects of astrology and the power of electional and horary are really valuable, but we gloss over them quite a bit. I don’t necessarily have a solution for this but I wonder if one of the first steps isn’t finding ways to advertise talks on fundamentals better. We just had a really great weekend of speakers but I bet it was predominantly astrologers or pre-existing enthusiasts present. How do we get word out for that? How do we ground ideas and conversations about huge celestial topics? You say you want to be Jupiterian about it and among OURSELVES that’s great! But if you want it to reach out to the public and establish our credibility, it cannot be too big. You’re right about us working with bigger companies. That’s the vein we need. I’m also very excited about the self-work aspects of astrology; it has been a great complement to therapy and psychiatry for me. BUT ancient astrologers were also doing a lot of day-to-day and event work for their community. We should be thinking that way, too, and find a way to close gaps between ourselves and our isolated peers and our cities/towns/communities. And subsequently, bridge the gap between the astrologers helping people found their huge corporations, and ourselves - we’re all doing the same thing. We should be especially prepared for this as the US steps out of quarantine and we are no longer totally dependent on online communication. Is this Virgo enough for you? :)

listened to this today while i was working, but couldn't leave a comment at the time. honestly loved it so much. personally i do try to be a good representative for astrology as a bridge to those that don't believe. but mostly they're just knee-jerk judgemental about it and then treat you like crap, calling you crazy and acting like you're not intelligent. based on that alone. and there's no point in saying anything about how astrology isn't the memes you see and how it's such an in-depth system, and how it's kind of dumb to hate something you don't even understand how it works or what it even really is, because they either blow you off or harass you more. others who might be watching the interactions could take those seeds, at least. but man it's rough on my mental health that i only have a tenuous grasp on. i can't speak up every time, bc i just know it's not going to go anywhere positive even if i'm respectful. regarding statistical information- i'd LOVE to do a study on charts to see things like adhd and whatever, the way they did with serial killers (have you seen that article?) personally i'm really interested in seeing how transits played out historically over time, so collecting that kind of data on a larger scale would be so fucking fun. i love astrology, learning, history, research, etc. so if you ever want to work on a project like that, Cam, i'd be soo fucking down to go on that journey with you.

The Pattern app is big, Goop just had an episode on astrology recently with Chani Nicholas, I watched an interview where Smokey Robinson told singer Khalid “you better know your rising sign. It has more affect on you than your parents!” And last year I somehow stumbled onto Pastor Ben Heath discussing astrology and eclipses: “The wise men knew Jesus was born. We need to be like the wise men and know what’s coming.” But he is an idiot and also purported to say he was going to predict things practicing “Astronomy” and that’s okay but of course astrology is evil. And then he looked at an eclipse table and said he didn’t know what it meant but it was cool. 🙄Let’s hope he doesn’t figure it out like the bonehead Lance Walnau, who must have been using it when he wrote the book, God’s Chaos Code and correctly predicted a bunch of stuff thereby convincing religious nuts that everything he said was true specifically that Trump is sent by Christ to save us. I’ve had the gut feeling for awhile that astrology was going to become a household thing but I wasn’t anticipating religious pastors and Evangelical fanatics getting in on it! As a lover of science and math, I also couldn’t help but notice the recent news on Muons - which to me sounds like the perfect explanation of how planets and their energies affect us here on earth. And then there’s also NASA’s recordings of the sounds of the planets (naturally Saturn sounds scary as shit) and the videos of music’s vibrational affect on water. Last I checked, earth is the only planet that’s at least half water (and so are we humans). Throw in some quantum physics, Pythagorean aspects, a little dash of Schumann resonance and Nikolai Tesla’s 369 theory and Egyptian Pyramid obsession just for the hell of it and there you go! And don’t even get me started on the documentary about alien sightings called The Phenomenon on Amazon Prime. Senator Harry Reid, NASA astronauts, naval officers, Princeton PHDs and other reputable White House staff discussing the fact that aliens exist as if it’s no bid deal was quite a shock to me! Apparently a lot of fringe topics are going to be the norm. I guess you can’t really have a 200 year “Air cycle” without Aliens can you, now? 🤣 Here’s the second paragraph followed by the link to the full article on Muons that came out April 8, 2021. “The muons that hit the Earth result from particles in the Earth’s atmosphere colliding with cosmic rays-high-energy protons and atomic nuclei that move through space at just below the speed of light. Yooooo!!!! I'm super passionate about astrology being a LEGIT science and I could just be a little too lit right now to be talking about my passion right now but ALL sciences were looked at as bologne and the scientists experimenting in the science they discovered were looked at as absolutely BONKERS once. And then it was proven RIGHT and suddenly it's put into curriculum in schools and just a known fact by the masses. And they all trump religion to this day. Suddenly, what religion has explained a certain way is proven to be an actual event seen through ignorant, or uneducated eyes. I could go on forever...basically, astrology is just a science that's about to have it's hypothesis backed up by research and experiments. I totally feel you on the journaling astrology!

Also, I feel like the different astrologies (vedic and sidereal more importantly) are all correct, just from different physical perspectives. Sidereal is, this is what's happening at the actual point of the planets energies meeting and because of the speed of sound/light will take x amount of time to travel to Earth and where you're at, specifically before you are affected by it. re: astrology is racism for girls ... yeah I saw that and thats basically what motivated me to stop asking people for their signs and birth dates after I explain that I'm an astrologer, because I guess I never want to make people feel like I dont like them based on their sign and also, I've seen so many posts of people posting their charts on subreddits asking "why did she stop talking to me after I told her I was a gemini" loving this podcast btw!

A few days ago my friends bf (♋️ ☀️) interrupted me mid sentence to be A CONDESCENDING ASS 🙄 towards me (♋️☀️) in a group setting when I excitedly brought up astrology and compared it to how I’m FINALLY participating in the ecoin world. I swear Cam, I wanted to punch that man in the face. 🥵 Trying to end convo by dismissing me, he said “good luck with all that”. I responded “no need, I actually study astrology. It’s a large & important part of my life”. ✨awkward silence ensued. ✨ His friend then looked at me and said “Well...I didn’t mean any offense, I kinda like astrology” 😂 Needless to say, that boy didn’t talk to me the rest of the night after embarrassing himself. It honestly got me really upset, but I plan to keep defending astrology.

very good point! i always tell people that the moon can affect the tide of the sea, and in vietnamese, we do use the word "moon" in the womens' periods. and the point is that is just the moon, what about other planets could affect on people? that's the counterargument i usually use. sorry english is my second language. so glad youtube recomend your channel. subbed and ring the bell❤
