ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on KZbin and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!

@@haggielady I totally agree. I had a crazy teacher's assistant in 1st grade, who tried to force me to use my right hand. It was a failure. All it did was put me behind in my writing skills. Which I never recovered. My handwriting is awful.

My oldest daughter was in 5th grade when her teacher decided she needed a "fool proof" metal tripod tool to force her to hold her pencil "correctly". NOT! Little darling found a way around it! 😅 Teacher gave up! 🤣 50+ years later her writing is still pretty illegible. Too bad....it's one of a kind & it's her's alone❣️😂 Before I got remarried, I discovered my stepson had a 3rd grade teacher who tried to "break him" from being left-handed. Good thing I wasn't around then. 🤨 He was in 6th grade when he became my son. I bought everything I could find for him for lefties (tablets, cups, scissors. etc) and all 6 of us set the dinner table for him according to his specific needs. Lefties Have Rights too🤗 Two of my own siblings were ambidextrous. Embrace what mother nature gives us....don't try to force what is unnatural. Just like fingerprints. No two of us are ever exactly the same. Yay for all the Lefties on this planet❤😊🎉

I can't believe it takes you 20 minutes to split nearly 90 sheep into 3 groups AND count them. I would get so distracted! I would love to see more of the process of splitting and counting, and reharnessing the rams, also, if you guys have the set up for it. I would honestly love just watch Lizzie drive the 4x4 and work with the dogs.

Even if Lizzie doesn't blog often, it's fine. It's not something anyone should do when they don't want to. But a sprinkling of Lizzie's viewpoint gives the "Sheep Game" more dimension. I was wondering about the gates also . Thanks for asking the question and Cammy or Lizzy for answering . Very sad fact that if they are poaching deer to start with and then to Top that off to leave gates open that can cost you more of your livelihood makes me 😢. The deer maybe they were hard up and needed food would be easier to understand and not mind so much but to be irresponsible with those gates . I’m so sorry about that.
