Can a badly damaged sidewall be repaired?

After swerving to avoid an out out-of-control mountain biker flying downhill, I hit a large, jagged rock at about 20 MPH. The damage to the sidewall was excessive. After looking at the tire damage, I felt there was no way to repair it. Then I heard about Glue Tread. I ordered a kit from Amazon and we gave it a try. The results were very surprising!
