That closing shot of the burnout was breathtaking! Thank you :) From a strictly performance vs. cost perspective, nothing can compete with the ZL1. I've been daily driving my '18 Z since new and honestly it never gets old... I literally miss it when I go on trips. Chevrolet has only made about 15,000 6th generation ZL1s in total. By comparison, dodge produced nearly that many Hellcats in 2016 alone. I predict these will become highly collectable in the future. I will never sell mine.

Great review! Just a quick note- you're a bit off on the Performance Data Recorder. You do indeed pull data, overlay laps against your instructor/reference, etc all thru the Cosworth Toolbox that's a part of the PDR license. Just pull the SD card and upload to your computer and see exactly where you're inconsistent in every corner!

@Miata Master its really not that bad. There are additional small changes to the 1le package that make the steering and braking slightly sharper and less squishy on initial turn in/pedal application. Fun video. I’m from the US and own this same car. As far as why the 1LE is faster, it’s because of the suspension and aero. It’s not too hard to overdrive the stock suspension on a track. I’ve done laps at Road America so know this first hand. 👍

I work for the USAF with a lot of pilots. Driving on base is almost like being at a car show. Jags, Porsches, Corvettes (both C7 and C8), Mustangs, Mopar Hemi cars, Subarus, Supras, Alpha Romeos, the full set of modern sports cars sold in America. Our pilots love to fly close to the ground too. The parking lot where I work has a few beauties. And when the pilot with the ZL1 purrs in, everyone stops, looks, and listens. I drove a SS ragtop a while back. And for me, that's about all I'd ever need. Not having been in a GM product since the 90's, I was blown away by the build quality. And, they've surely tapped into the fun-factor. I felt like Mad Max on vacation in that SS.

I would much rather have one of these with the 10speed auto than a Hellcat Redeye. If the new supercharger on the new Escalade V is available from GMPP and is a bolt on upgrade since it's a 2.7L versus the LT4 1.7L it could be cheap upgrade that would make 1kwhp extremely easy. Just a ported SC, pulley swap, heat exchanger, fueling upgrades, exhaust, cam and valve train.

Here in north Italy we have an importer called Cavauto specialized in American cars since the early 80s. Back in October 2021 they had for a very brief period a black ZL1 with 1LE package on display. Apparently was the only ZL1 that landed in Italy and now it's with it's owner, I believe from the Milan area. Very curious.
@giovannifacci2 жыл бұрын
just for the curious, in Europe is apparently "banned" cause of the front splitter (think AMG GT Black Series) and especially the canards. One method I assume importers can register these cars, is to simply swap the front bumper for a regular Z1L (non 1LE) at inspection. Then swap it again. But this is just my speculation.
