This vid deserves more likes. Videos about gravel bike descents mostly show park-type smooth fine gravel roads, in my reality trails around are more like this one.

I think you'd be down by now :-) You'll be flying down things like this when you get back from the Pamir's

Wow, I wouldn’t be able to do it at that speed even on an MTB… What bike was this on? Was there any suspension?

Hey there. This was a stock Fairlight Secan so a gravel bike with no suspension running 650b x 52mm tyres.

Looks like a great route & lots of fun, however no chance will a gravel bike have the capability to descend on this type of terrain as well as a MTB :-)

Yes and it was slightly tongue in cheek. However on that descent I'm pretty sure my Strava segment time was better than a lot of people on MTB. Just showing that in the right hands a gravel bike can be a very good off-road weapon. I still think a set up like this (or yours) is the fastest for something like GBE.

@@TurnCycling Most definitely a rider will make almost any bike work, however suspension will always make it comfortable & faster on the terrain you rode on in the video. 100/110 lockout suspension bike loaded would totally be the best weapon of choice, however this would be based on higher end with low weight if you wanted to be fast & comfortable… As you said, I would also pick my Gravel Bike lol
