Can A High Handicap Golfer use Takomo 101 irons ??

Thanks to a fellow golfer we have put his question to the test. Can a high handicap golfer/beginner golfer use the Takomo 101 irons?
In this video we put mesh to the test and had him try playing a few holes using my Takomo Irons.

I’m a circa 20 handicap, but reducing quickly! Had my 101s for around a month now. Can’t praise them enough, when you strike them pure it’s the most beautiful feeling in the world - like butter! They have added 15/20 yds to my distance through the bag and I’m hitting more greens - and fairways when I use the 4 iron off the tee. For less than £500 custom fit and delivered (incl import tax) they have to be the best value iron on the market!

@@jags8632 I went for an independent fitting with a local pro, and got told the best shaft and lie. Then ordered the Takomos with the same spec.

I’m not in the market for new irons, so my wife tells me, however I would seriously consider Takomo if I were. Mesh did hit some nice shots and I think we will see the Takomo a bit more over the next few years. Met Mesh for the first time on Wed evening as I teed off with my Son just before him. I did remind him to tee off behind the markers 😂

Our Lass has just told me the same about getting a mint PING tour bag off marketplace that it’s not the right time as money is tight Then goes and gets her hair done at £180 🤷‍♂️ The mouth I got for asking for £30 was terrible Just hope she doesn’t realise it just spent £1800 on getting the car remapped to stage 2 😂

Custom sets were backordered. So I bought the heads which in stock and got KBS shafts off EBay. They came in a week and I took 'em out last Sat. They strike like butter and more importantly kept my thins and fats on the fairway. Won my 3some for the 1st time ever on their maiden voyage! Being a rubbish golfer, one of my surprising strengths is shot shaping (punching out around, under and over trees). They were very shapable to me (Fyi I vary my swing path instead of manipulating the club face.) Hope this helps.

I don't think the Rams are similar to these one bit. The Takomo are actually good clubs those Rams are junk that I would recommend no one spend there money on.

A more realistic review for sticks. Takomo 101’s are for high handicappers. It just makes sense to have a higher handicapper review the sticks

Yeah nice thought. I suppose at the time it was more about if the everyday golfers could feel confident playing them as opposed to testing against other clubs but nice idea. Haha mesh has always been the positive type with his shit choices 🤣

I also always go for the hero shot that I have very little chance of hitting. 23 handicap so not sure what I am thinking but pretty sure the beer helps make those decisions for me.

@@paulburton210 oh sorry I understand now mate. I only used the 790s while being fitted. Now using the 101s I really love them. If I'm honest I couldn't give a honest opinion as I used them only a few times while fitting.

@@GOLFDAYS I've got a fitted set of P790 And wouldn't Trade them for nothing. My buddy has the 201 coming. We're gonna put them both to the task head to head to head we're both about a 4 handicap. The 790 I've played all summer 60 plus rounds and can tell you the forgiveness is amazing. I'm curious if the Takomo are like the 790. Highly recommend the 790 tho. I could go on and on about them.

These clubs are Made in China and are complete trash. Yes, they sound amazing, but they don't add distance or control. They're exactly the same as my old clubs EXCEPT, they bend at the head after about thirty to fifty swings. So far, it's the PW and the 7i, but I have no doubt that this is simply because those are my two most used clubs. Given the same number of swings, I have no doubt that the other clubs will start bending backwards at the hossel, or however you spell it. This was done with clean, ball first contact shots. Clubs were extended one inch and one degree upright.

Mate i suggest you speak with their customer services. Like most things now, made in china. The phone you are most likely using came from there. I would say you are very unlucky if this has happened to you.. like anything, bad reviews spread like wildfire more than good so if this was the general consensus don't you think there would be more news on this happening? I have used mine for a year now and haven't seen anything like what you're saying. Again i suggest you contact them direct. 👍

Been playing my 101s for over a year now and they are still in perfect shape and play beautifully. No issues whatsoever. I love the feel as well as the amount of forgiveness they provide when my ball strike is a bit off. Looking forward to buying the 101Ts once my game has gotten to the point where I believe I can move up to more of a players iron.

Like this one gents. I wish I could try these somehow as I am getting some new irons, this fall most likely, and would love to test the Takomo irons. In like the look of them for sure, but might want something even more forgiving and have to sacrifice on looks a bit and price too. Great idea for a video though.

I watch a lot of golf content an just a tip from my opinion to grab attention would be to focus more on the clubs that ur testing at the beginning would be (a run down of what takomo is as a brand what they do, a discription of what type of club they are who they’re for and what they look like and the customization that they have at hand) just so the viewer knows if the product could work for them an that way ur video will give them the best learning opportunity and can focus on that and just enjoying ur content an personality at the same time! I'm trying to figure out if the 101' or the 101T fit me better. I typically shoot between 92 and 100. I a in my early 70s, in good shape. I drive the ball well, pretty straight about 200-220. My short game stinks and my putting is lousy. I hit my irons straight for the most part but suffer with the occasional grounder. I sometimes will come out of the shot as they say. I sometimes swing too hard...On par 4's I am very often just off the fringe on 2 shots then I can mess up a chip and three putt. I am often in great shape after the tee shot then capaple of hitting a grounder with the iron, so I am unsure. I am leaning towards the 101 but I am working hard on my game so perhaps the "T" might fit me. Just not sure.

love the insight, i would love to be any help but i do not have any knowledge in expertise. i would say 101 irons will ultimately give you more distance for longer but again from the sounds of it you are more than capable to play the 101t irons. either would be great.

I just ordered a custom set -.5 in, Atmos graphite shafts, and oversized grips. Paid a bit more but fits me better. Can’t wait to get them. Nice demonstration of the 101’s.
