I jumped on the Takomo bandwagon after watching James, the Bryan Bros (only Wesley at the time) and others use them. I got the 101Ts. After a few outings using them I determined they just aren't for me. They are small and don't have enough heft behind them. They are good clubs that go an average distance, but they just don't give me confidence standing over them. I've since bought the Paradym irons off of the Callaway Preowned site for roughly the same price and they are amazing. Perfect irons for me.

They do, however, look super in the bag.

@garymartingolf6 ай бұрын
Great question. I wouldn’t say they’d be an upgrade in quality. I think they’d perform better if they’re the right spec, but in my personal opinion, id probably rather have Callaway, but Callaway would cost you double custom ordered. Again, in my honest opinion, these direct to consumer brands offer you the performance of a big 5 brands, so great for value, however, will they last 10-20 years? I would say not, but it’s too soon to know.
@matthewheyen19536 ай бұрын
@@garymartingolf thanks for the reply mate, much appreciated. I’ve got everything callaway other than Kirkland wedges, I’m definitely a little bit of brand snub in that I like to keep my bag the same brand, outside of the wedges atleast, couldn’t go past the Kirkland wedges for value imo. Am still beginner and high handicapper though so I can’t quite justify spending $1500+ aud for a new set of callaway irons custom fit. Unfortunately being in Aus, the 2nd hand market is very limited compared to America so is quite hard to find good sets reasonably priced let alone ones that have extra length and the right shafts. Even callaway pre owned for very good and like new cond sets are minimum $500 aud more than the takomo’s. That’s why I was considering the takomo’s, would ideally be a set to last 2-3 years that’ll give me the extra length at a decent price until I’m hopefully a mid handicap, maybe even single digits 🤞 before going all in on a callaway set.

I played 6 full rounds with them carding my worst scores ever and I'm a 4 handicap. I'm getting older so I thought I could get a few more yards out of these. I take divots (2 degree down strikes) and these are the worst turf interaction I've ever tried. Even center strikes felt clanky and muted. I asked to try my buddies g425 irons and shot 2 over par the next time we went out. I went to a used club site the next day and bought a set of used g425's for $400 shipped.
