After years of unprecedented drought in Somalia, a famine is now expected to be declared within weeks.
The United Nations says since January last year, more than a million people have been forced to leave their homes, in search of food and assistance.
Its humanitarian Chief, Martin Griffiths, is calling on the international community to deliver aid immediately.
But is aid alone enough?

Read to my writing as somalia live in mugdisho. I have seen a housekeeper who does our home to clearn .....I asked her where do you live she said I live in a camp where government set up for them....she said one of the NGOS working in Somalia has pledged to give us $60...however she said that she only receives $24 so I asked her where is the other money? She said the governor of that camp takes $25, the one who registers us takes $10 and the one who arranges us takes $1 so that is a total of $36 so the remaining is only $24.... Conclusion: unless these corrupted officials are eliminated, I told the world to investigate and have adequate independent auditors to ensure funds are gained by the beneficiaries.

And before all that comes the cost of running the fund raising charities - salaries, office buildings, transportation.....Not blaming them for being paid for their work, but people must realize that what they donate isn't all going into the stomachs of the hungry.

May the God of Abraham provide for these people and aid will reach them like manner from heaven. And that they receive rain by the grace of God. According to the bible, the children of Israel experienced drought for many years in the time of Elijah the prophet. Despite persecution and Elijah had to go in hiding, God fed him in the wilderness through the Ravens which brought him food. Elijah also prayed later for rain and received it. God can provide for you in the middle of a crisis. He can make your enemies blinded and give you a safe haven, just trust Him. Also, when the children of Israel went up with a mixed multitude to the land of Canaan through the desert God fed these people with manner from Heaven. I pray for Somalians and Africa as a whole.
