Great team work. Lyn, unlike many, is really checked out on line handling. And of course, Ed is always composed as there is usually something unexpected. Love this video. I enjoy seeing how people handle situations around the dock working as a team. Personally I always use the dock cleats as leverage for pulling the boat in it seems to take the stress off the lower back.

Great Educational Video! When it comes to certain select key words like you’re “CLEAR”, it’s a good practice to never say that word till you you are actually clear (Lyn said “hold on, you’re not CLEAR” -better might be to simply say “hold on” or “Stand by”…. …or even better, Lyn can use a special compound key phase like “FREE & CLEAR” or a special code phase like Lyn yelling “ED YOURE AN AMAZING HUNKA-MAN!” to indicate he’s free to thrust forward away from the T-head
@tryingnottosink91072 ай бұрын
Yes, that was unusual for Lyn to use the word before I was actually clear. The real problem we have is Cleo keeps saying clear in Lyn's voice!

Great job. I enjoy our videos. Question, how often do you wax/polish your boat?
@tryingnottosink91072 ай бұрын
Not often enough. We haven't done a full wax in two years. However, we wax the main areas that get sun twice a year and we do the stainless steel every 2-3 times a year. I guess we got a little lazy on the waxing when we were in Philly and the sun was less harsh and we were in a much more protected area.

Great video showing how you two work together! But I must say this! I have small center console boat for fishing! The few times my wife has been on the boat has not worked out! I'll just go ahead and say it! My wife knows everything about everything and you cannot tell her otherwise! I don't even have enough sense to get a bottle of water out of the fridge! So I stay away from anything that needs her help!

you know, sailfish is an awesome facility. but the people there are not nice to work with. it's a shame too. it didn't used to be that way when the old owners were there. we have stopped taking our boat there just because of the way we have been treated. why would you stay at a marina that doesn't think enough of you to help you cast of a 65?
@tryingnottosink91072 ай бұрын
In fairness, we did not ask for help. We rarely do. Unless we are doing a "spring release" we almost always just launch on our own.

@lindamaurice99232 ай бұрын
Why do you take all the lines off? Just loop them securely on the rail. We have never had a line fall off. Sorry but you make this more difficult than it needs to be.
@tryingnottosink91072 ай бұрын
It is not difficult. It is a matter of discipline to us. We make our bed every day as well, even though we could just let it be. Following procedure keeps us focused. Plus, we are often heading to an anchorage for a few days and do not want them in our view. Everyone has something that makes them feel comfortable. For Lyn, it is stowing the lines after every departure, no matter how short. I often tease her but it keeps her sane.
