Compare these two for fuel economy on your test loop, also a 60-70mph test. Those are the best tests for how well something tows, along with the Ike Pass.

If you can get one of the early M.Y. with the eTorque, you’d be extremely surprised. That extra 70ft/lbs up to 1500RPM is very much appreciated.

The Jeep's 0-60 MPH with the trailer was fast..........when you compare it to Andre's H-2 when it towed his boat from 0-60 MPH in 35.77 seconds. Still one of the funniest tow tests ever.

3.8. Wrangler never got the 3.7, but they should have. Not a great motor but better than the 3.8.

The 3.8 only lived in the wrangler for a handful of years between the 4.0 and the 3.6. The 3.8 was a dog turd, the 3.6 is a slightly more powerful dog turd, the 4.0 used to have more power than you could use in a wrangler.

@spcneary the 3.6 has like 100 more hp than the 4.0. The jeeps it was put in were tin can deathtraps that didn't weigh anything, that's why it felt like so much power. The 4.0 and the 3.8 had similar power, a jk is just much heavier so it feels so much slower.

I could see the shorty wheelbase being a concern when towing with a jeep... Sure it's a "boxed" frame and solid axle, but I see it being too short to be a comfort ride at the very least.

Andrea & Mr. Truck makes the best team. With that said, those engines in that jeep are trash, yes they might have put them in a lot of different vehicles, but that doesn't mean they're good. Personally, I'm glad they use them as much as they do, as a 40-year macanic, they pay my mortgage and put my grandson through college. So I hope Stellantis keeps making them, keeps me in business.

Must be an elevation thing still at play with the Colorado time? My 2022 Silverado refresh with the 2.7 HO can consistently snap 6.8-7.1 0-60mph runs at about 400 ft ASL so that Colorado should easily be as fast if not a hair faster being lighter than a Silverado.

Andre, a slight tangent question ... I'm trying to find an OBD port device that can display the turbo boost pressure (and don't care if it's psi or kPa) while driving in my new Colorado Z71 (L3B engine). In one of your videos a while back I think you were using a Banks iDash to get 0-60 numbers, if so, does your Banks device also show boost pressure? I just tried a cheap device off Amazon and it's always showing 0 psi for boost, so I'm trying to verify a device that does before I buy it. And, it might be interesting to show boost pressure in your Trail Boss while doing some of your tests with it. Thx.

It will still tow the same weight but have some squat. But the 2024 JL will be able to tow more weight (5k lb) because of the new full floating rear axle.

This is not a vehicle VS vehicle test. It's a paid ad for the air suspension company. You cant compare a jeep with a max optioned tow capacity of 3500 pounds, to a truck with a lowest possible rating of 3500, and a max option of 7000. Might as well be comparing the tow capacity of an Explorer and a Silverado 3500 dually

I won't deny that testing towing just raw payload max numbers is valid, but I'd much rather see this test done towing something like a 3500# Jayco Jayflight Baja Edition travel trailer. These trailers are spring-over single-axle jobs with larger fresh water and propane storage, allowing someone to go both further into the wilderness and to stay there longer before needing water and fuel for heat and/or cooking. the travel trailer adds the wind resistance component, and frankly is more likely if the jeep is doing the towing, since the occupants can get off into the forest or desert for camping, and then use the jeep for some four wheeling while they're camping. The off-road part is fairly small, but the highway part just getting to the trailhead is a pretty big deal.

It probably does slip. I know a guy with a 2022 Trail Boss Silverado and it's already having transmission issues. The turbo definitely helps out especially where those TFL yuppies are located in high elevation Colorado. GM has been going downhill for a number of years now and with their diversity pick CEO Marry Barra at the helm, I'll stay away from their product.
