I recently upgraded from a razer blackwidow to this keyboard, and after about 2 weeks of using it, i have to agree, this is the best keyboard ive ever felt, even when compared to some of the boutique keyboards. its definitely worth the money, even if you just use the G keys for muting, unmuting and deafening on discord, for example. and as a note, the actuation on these keycaps is so finely tuned, that if i hold the spacebar down on my keyboard at the perfect height, the subtle shakiness of my hand is enough to press and release the spacebar, which allows me to pause and unpause youtube videos at lightning speed, mostly a funny thing to show people, but cool to see the sensitivity nonetheless. TLDR worth the money, bu ti might reccomend making sure every other part of your pc is premium first, this is a nice finishing touch to a real fancy 5000$ build

I don't think this is worth $200 because it's just a repackaged keyboard from 2017 with a new wrist rest and PBT keycaps standard. I own an $89 keyboard with doubleshot PBT keycaps standard, the Hexgears Impulse, so that feature alone does not justify the price tag when I can get it on something that costs $110 less. This is just an enthusiast-priced keyboard without understanding anything that would justify the enthusiast price tag.

Imo, yeah, a $200 keyboard is worth it, but not that one, especially since it has Cherry switches, and Cherry speeds at that (which are known to be scratchy and not really that great). Most of the price of these types of keyboards goes into the looks and brand name switches (people have the misconception that cherry switches are the best; they usually aren't even near the best, closer to the worst). At that price, I would either build a custom board with Gateron/Kailh/Novelkeys/Zeal switches or buy a Topre which, though it doesn't use individual switches; it's a membrane keyboard (hearing that puts a lot of people off; better a good membrane than a bad mechanical), they feel amazing. They are extremely high quality, are NOT mushy, are exceptionally tactile, quiet, and best of all, they use electro-capacitive (EC) switches, which means that even though they're a membrane keyboard, they trigger partway down the press instead of all the way at the bottom. If you can't tell, i love Topres (which I got a really good deal on; $150 for a Realforce R2 JPV)... I'm typing on them right now, and they're honestly my favorite switch yet. I type significantly faster on these than I did my Cherry browns, Outemu blacks or no-name blues. Edit: I see some people in the comment mentioning the PBT keycaps... PBT is basically a standard at this point, and the ones that come on gaming keyboards in general are, excuse my bluntness, shit.

@thechemtrailkid3 жыл бұрын
To be honest, no matter how much you like the chassis or how much you like (for whatever reason) Corsair's software, $200 for a keyboard with Cherry switches is just too much. Their own K100 has optical switches, which are miles smoother than anything Cherry makes. I really wish large peripheral makers would start switching to gateron or another switch maker, Gateron yellows are also way smoother and cheaper.

I have a Corsair K100 keyboard. As well as a Corsair Scimitar Elite mouse and honestly they feel so good. I'm unsure what the wrist rest on that board feels like as I haven't owned it but the K100 is very similar to that keyboard and it also has a super plushy wrist rest and I completely agree it feels so good to type with. A good way to get things from Corsair is on amazon and pick the certified refurbished option Corsair also has this option a lot of their website. I actually got the K100 keyboard which is normally around 200usd for around 110usd and the mouse which is normally around 80usd for around 40usb and I honestly couldn't tell they where used when I got them. I also picked up a Corsair H150I elite AIO for like 80 bucks as certified refurbished and bought the screen upgrade so instead of paying almost 300usd like it normally costs I only payed around 180usd and I have a dope ass AIO with a screen for gifs on it. Honestly if you ever buy anything from Corsair and its not on sale go to amazon or corsairs website and just get a certified refurbished version it comes with buyer protection and they'll send out a replacement immediately if anything is wrong with the item and honestly you cant even tell its not brand new. I have I even did certified refurbished on a 3 pack of my Corsair SP120 RGB Elite fans which are normally like 140usd for a three pack and only payed 70 and it came with a commander as well which are like 70 bucks on their own brand new. I'm telling you it will save you so much money going the certified refurbished option and their has been no difference from brand new in my opinion well accept in most cases more than a 50 percent discount on the product.

I bought my exgf this keyboard and a Corsair M65 Pro mouse a few years back. The keyboard is amazing, certainly pricey, but the metal build is very stout. The mouse started with right button double clicks or not registering clicks at all, almost immediately. RMAed it, new one was exactly the same after a few months. Corsair keyboards are top notch, I have the K68 RGB and love it, but stay away from the M65 mouse, after she had trouble with hers I noticed all the bad reviews for the right mouse button. The Logitech G502 is the best mouse Ive ever used, and is super durable, Ive had mine for years. The only thing I wish the K68 had is onboard memory, having to have the ICUE software running for per key lighting hogs up RAM.

I watched this video cause I also fell in the "200$ for a keyboard? No." but it does sound quite intriguing. I've used very basic office style "Dell" keyboards since I started using computers in 1996 when I was 10. Even now after learning so freaking much about computers and building them myself and watching your channel and a couple others a lot, even after getting a 2K 144HZ monitor to properly play with, I still have a basic office keyboard. I do have a more proper gaming mouse, not a great one though. Basic Cyberpower PC mouse I had lying around from an old computer :P It's got 2 side buttons where I want them to be, and 2 more where I don't see how anyone can possibly use them but ok. Anyway though, it works pretty nice. But I'm sure I could get better. I've had a Razor Naga before, don't know exactly what model it was, I gave it away to a close friend at the time. I didn't really care for it. Could never seem to get the settings quite right for it.

The only thing that matters to me in the long run is durability. Talking about the actual keys and/or their switches. 200 bucks isnt even that much. Well, for a Corsair board it kinda is, but good, especially custom mechanicals go up to over 400$. When you spend 12 hours a day typing or at your PC, your keyboard matters. A lot. This things seems useful for streamers who dont want to actually learn about macros and how they can build or customize other boards etc. I'd say about 120$ is the standard for entry level boards now, 70$ for budget boards, 160 and up for pre built boards. I have a K95 Platinum with Speed switches, and personally I don't think it's worth 200 USD. They ARE worth it if you can get them on sale for 100-150 dollars, I think.

I had a M65 mouse for 4 months before it started randomly left clicking on it's own. Replaced it with another and that one lasted 6 months. The switches in the M65 are junk.

My K95 Platinum RGB was £200 with 18 G keys. Helps loads with streaming, but this has less G keys, so it should cost much less.

You can get a k95 platinum for 120€ with MX Speed right now in Italy. I wouln't spend 80 more for the XT.
@randym41214 жыл бұрын
If you have the original K95, this XT version isn't worth buying unless...you work in the dark or just have a poorly lit work environment. If you look at the original K95, notice that all the keys with a SHIFT or secondary function, all have their secondary functions (for example, the "?" under the "/"} on the lower half of the key. That used to be pretty standard practice on many keyboards, but the more intelligently designed L.E.D. keyboards have these secondary legends on the UPPER HALF of the key. Why? Because that's where the L.E.D. lives! If you have a legend on the lower half of the key, as on the original K95, that legend remains unlit. The new K95 XT has those secondary legends on the UPPER HALF of the key so they can be lit-up by the L.E.D. underneath. This means they can be seen even in a dim environment. There are other similar but subtle improvements on the K95 XT that should have been implemented on the original K95 but weren't. Of course, another huge improvement is the availability of Cherry MX BLUE switches, which were previously unavailable on the original K95. I was always puzzled by the lack of a BLUE switch option on the original K95 as they are a very popular switch with many people, including myself. As for the textured spacebar, while unnecessary, it seems to add a bit of luxury, as do the textured macro keys. Nothing was said about the Elgato Streamdeck software, but this is also a big upgrade from the original K95. The new padded wrist rest is much better than the hard plastic wrist rest on the original K95, and finally brings the wrist rest up to standard with RAZER and other high-end competitors. The only thing still missing is magnetic attachment to the keyboard instead of cheap plastic clips that can easily break. All-in-all, the K95 XT is, in many subtle ways, better than the original K95. But unless you can use or need these subtle refinements, upgrading from a K95 to a K95 XT is a waste of money. Stick with your K95, it's still the "Rolls Royce" of keyboards...just a different Rolls Royce.

To be honest, the problem with corsair keyboards are not the price rather their boards just die off out of nowhere. I have used 6 corsair keyboards, 5 of the 6 died out of no where with 0 responses from the board and the other one got the whole "qwertyuiop[]\" row dead. It's true, their products are built to last, just "last" not functioning.
@DawidDoesTechStuff4 жыл бұрын
That is crazy. Did Corsair replace them for you? That is an unusually high failure rate.
@biskcuit4 жыл бұрын
@@DawidDoesTechStuff Yes, they did replace it but for the last 2 unit, I stopped reaching them for the claim since it was becoming stressful for me; 8-10 days to replace a keyboard. Corsair even acknowledges this issue of their hardware and promised everyone that the latest units do not carry same faulty architecture yet it did. Otherwise, I absolutely love their boards tbh. Their built quality is incomparable.

Still awful stabilizers and the ugly keycap font, not worth 200 dollars. They still have a textured spacebar and for 200 dollars they should give you a normal spacebar with the textured one as something you can change like the wasd keys.
@cruzcastillo69844 жыл бұрын
With 200 dollars most people could buy a computer part that would upgrade their pc, so I personally don't see the point of this. My max for a keyboard and mouse set up is 50 dollars.

Yeah, $200 can but a decent GPU. It is a lot of money for something that doesn't directly impact gaming performance.
