I have been a mean girl in the past and I think that it steams from insecurity, low self esteem and jealousy. When you don't feel good about yourself, you want everyone to feel the same way too. So you look for negative things to say to them, and claim it as being honest.

I see other women and if a woman is attractive nice looking have a nice body I look at them and I said girl you got to get yourself together that's me myself and I I don't know how that lady keep herself together she may have good ways she may have bad ways my grandmother said to me one time there might have been many times what would you ask for you don't know how they got it I don't think my grandmother was being mean I think she was being realistic and as years went on I think things about some of my associates I found out that everything that was right with them some of them had wrong ways of getting things I was raggedy as a jaybird when I was a teenager I try to keep my clothes together more iron on them and whatever and I found out that the girls that had nice clothes there was a store called Alexander's back in the days in New York they will go to Alexander's and shoplift I seen a white woman one day they used to have tables and Maze will you can buy shoes I seen a white woman common Macy's department store and she put the shoes down on the floor Had a Little Caesars cut them left the old shoes damn walked out at that time you can get a decent pair of shoes for 399 she was at the 999 table I was at the 399 table looking for a decent pair of shoes but I didn't go over there and do the same thing because she might have gotten away with it and I wouldn't and I had children to pick up at school so it was best for me to buy my 399 shoes and keep it moving

I just have never felt the need to be "mean" to other women. There will always be someone better looking, more intelligent, wealthier etc. Be the best you that you can be. Build yourself up and you won't have to tear other people down.

I've been a mean girl in the past. I was miserable(WITHIN) though. Someone was being mean to me so I did it to others. It took for me to go to therapy and start over. I had to let go lot of grudges and issues I didn't even know I had. That led me to have more empathy and sympathy for others as well as myself. So YES, u can evolve into a positive person. U Learn things and people every day. Life is about GROWTH.

This convo was so necessary. I grew up in the Chi and never understood why if you even glanced at someone it was seen as Ill intent. Even when I have compliments it was rarely accepted without some smugness. Needless to say it could be regional since I moved down south and don’t really have the same type of defensive interactions. I hope especially as black women that we all continue to grow in the way these ladies mentioned. Not to be perfect, but to show other groups that we know how to show and experience love. I honestly feel like that’s something that other cultures have had over us for a while; that doesn’t mean we haven’t had circumstances that have accounted for it, just that it’s an area for improvement. Good job ladies 🤗

I've always been curious about that. I'm in the south, and here, its normal that if you should walk past someone, you verbalize a "hello" or "hiyadoin" or simply nod your head in greeting. When i visit Chicago and do that, I'm often looked at like im up to something!

awkward moment when you really do think about "rainbows and butterflies" over other women. I've never once felt the desire to tear down another woman. I've always had a good level of self esteem and I'm not insecure. So ladies, if anyone ever tears you down - especially without reason - just know she's projecting her own issues on to you

If you love yourself nobody nobody can pull you down God gave us that free gift of love always remember that when somebody is not loving you you can love yourself and it when you got up and you put yourself together and you put on your wig or your weave or whatever you wear in your head it's yours you bought it I myself would like to see all of us are black women have confidence and get instructions on how to grow our own hair and not being Bamboozled into buying products that don't work that's all I ask of the women that are covering their hair up because maybe they had a bad perm or they sides are falling out when I do my hair on wash day are you shampoo sometime I use black soap shampoo that I've made myself from Azonto with natural black soap because I was I just signed my I myself I'm sad when I see women with a whole lot of fake hair when they don't even ask where did the hair come from who had the sacrifice so that you can have hair on your head when you can grow your own beautiful hair dude that's all I have to say be healthy and grow your own hair

The term "Mean Girl" was coined by the author of an article / book about clique-ish bullying between girls in high school and became a successful film starring Lindsey Lohan in 2000. Negative bullying attitudes have been around forever under different terms. You can reform this behavior but it takes great self-examination and honesty.

Yes a mean girl can be changed through Jesus Christ... I believe that meanness comes from brokenness on the inside. They need healing and more self love.

You can reform absolutely the community tolerant this anger. If they can shut down a video. Dragging is good. Because you don’t get away with Swinging Durt in the public just to feel good about yourself. Mean for mean sake is stupid. But when you do crap like that journalists. Drag her don’t let people get away with I’m only doing my job. Hitler’s soldiers claim that their atrocities were only doing their job. Drag them drag them go for it. Don’t support these people stop going to their shows buying their music. Mean girls can change like taking off makeup.
