@@houselightkell "Do ALL birds have pneumatized bones?" Per the Wikipedia page for "bird anatomy," no. And I quote: " Penguins, loons,[2] and puffins are without pneumatized bones entirely.[3][4] Flightless birds, such as ostriches and emus, have pneumatized femurs[5] and, in the case of the emu, pneumatized cervical vertebrae.[6]" For most birds, the hollow spaces in their bones actually hold air that is used for respiration, (and avian respiration is apparently complicated in a way that I haven't sufficiently studied yet, so all I can tell you is that it's this way for some reason that helps them breathe.) Important in the case of domestic chickens in particular, is that they are not descended from flightless birds. Wild chickens are capable of flight, and even domesticated chickens, left entirely to their own devices, will happily climb trees and shit, so they're rather vertically capable even if they can't manage proper flight. Not much at all like a penguin or ostrich. (And hollow-boned farm fowl just makes sense anyway, because it means they are converting fewer nutritional resources into parts of the animal that we can't eat anyway.)

The reason the measurements with the grip sensor capped out at 30 kg was because the bar you made prevented the grips from moving as far as they normally would, meaning that any additional force supplied by the crab was counteracted by the normal force of the sensor and metal bar.

@@boyznthewoodz770yeah no this is a misconception. Scientific American mentions a study published in Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and conducted by Roger Mann that concluded that loss of a single big toe results in little or no disability. It takes some getting used to, but there are literal Olympic runners who are also missing toes or their entire leg for that matter. It’s a cultural myth that was started when the draft happened in the US, anyone that has any part of their foot, including toes, amputated is ineligible for military service and exempted from the draft. So some people decided to shoot their toes off. They were just fine after recovery.

Since it wasnt stated in the video I wanted to mention that not all crabs have the same strength in both claws. The mudcrabs claws here in the video appear to be similar, but other varients of crabs have whats called (for lack of a better name at the moment) the pincer claw, and the choppy claw. They have one claw specifically for holding and moving things such as rocks, shells, and wood including an attacker which is typically their skinny claw, and the other claw that's generally larger and stronger is used to break sticks, harm enemies and destroy prey such as other crabs legs, and in the case you were hoping for would be unsuspecting toes and fingers. Im not a crab specialist or marine biologist, but I hope this information helps some curious comment readers.

Dude he is so much more patient than I am. After 4 minutes of having a mudcrab latched onto me, and failing to get it off, I would most likely have shattered that crab against the bridge myself.

He might just rip that part of your hand away from your body if you try something like that. I don't think it's this animal, but I remember hearing about something that, if you killed it, good luck opening the claw, as it just literally deathgrips.

@@kindlin You can very easily pull a crab's arms off, they're dead thin where they attach, but then they couldn't have shown the footage because the community would shit on them for animal abuse, and rightly so, especially considering the overall stupid purpose.

@@kindlin Accidetally ripped the arm off a sadcrab that got hold of me once once (I started shaking my hand before seeing that it was just a tiny, inncoent creature) , the claw sorta still hung onto me, but when I pullad at it it opened up.

Human finger bones can be simulated with regular chicken thigh bones. Chickens have the same hollowed out bones, though less so, like other birds. I think a crab could easily snap a chicken wing bone. Childrens teeth can break chicken bones.

My teeth (though adult) can crush a chicken thigh bone, if only at a specific angle. You have to use the crushing teeth at the sides. I never tried crushing human fingerbones with my teeth.

There are pliers that work in reverse to the normal ones. You squeeze the handles and the noses of the pliers try to come apart. Locking ring pliers for internal locking rings come to mind. Those would have been much better for pushing the claws open.
