I've heard content creators talk about it, and ive seen it at RLCS, but, do the maps actually MEAN anything??? During the champ match you mentioned how the map WASNT on champions field, and, it got me thinking- Do the maps have any correlation to the ranks/capabilities of the players? I mostly wonder bc if they do have correlation, I'd maybe have better estimates of the ranks of the people I was playing against, (im on console and I mostly play free-play) and how difficult the match is estimated to be by the matchmaking system! I've selected specific maps that I like and dislike but I've noticed that I get the same handful of maps over and over and was just wondering if there was a 'scientific' reason for it or if it was in-fact completely randomised Thanks in advance for any replies 🤘🏻

No, maps have no meaning or function outside of looking different visually. Matchmaking and gameplay play out exactly the same regardless of the map chosen! The only exceptions are maps which are shaped differently (Tokyo Underpass, Badlands, Rocket Labs maps), but these do not appear in playlists except Rumble. Hope this helps :)

In regards to seeing the same few maps repeatedly, that's because all players are able to vote on maps, picking a few which they like, and downvoting ones they do not want to see. The majority of the playerbase tends to default to the same maps because of the background, you may notice the more common maps have backgrounds which are less "busy" and less bright, allowing more focus on the ball. Salty Shores and the Comic version of Neo Tokyo get downvoted to hell because they have high brightness and it makes it difficult to maintain visual on the ball in certain situations.

Superpoop is not a Smurf. It is a common misunderstanding in the rocket league community. Gold in 1v1 IS platinum and even diamond in 2v2 or 3v3. I consider myself gold because I main 1v1, but I could get diamond in 2v2 in a week if I tried.
