Can a Rear-Wheel-Drive Car Really Hit 0-60 MPH in 2.3 Seconds? The 2025 Corvette ZR1 Says Yes

As an Aerospace Engineer who owns a 2018 Porsche GT2 RS MR (6:38 'Ring time) I tip my hat to the GM engineers, assuming the DCT transmission and ZR1 engine hold up with hard usage, they really hit one out of the park. having said that, and re: the official GM 2.3 0-60 mph time, as the video says, it's a perfect condition on the perfect pavement with perfect prep time, whereas when Porsche publishes their official 0 - 60 time, it is done pretty much in the least favorable conditions, so it is always reproduceable on any decent surface by any driver, and on better conditions it is easily bettered. For example in my GT2 it is certified at 2.9 secs 0-60 but I have gotten 2.5 on a couple occasions, and my previous 991 Turbo S was certified at 2.7 seconds but I saw several 2.3 seconds and one 2.1 seconds on a cold day with perfect surface and some tire prep on Cup2R's.

Brooks from Dragtimes did a 2.1 on dragstrip with 1ft roll-out in his 765LT,and it was almost 4 years ago

The 765 LT has alien power but I hate the one foot roll out...Porsche does not use it on their certified 0 - 60 times, which is one reason their times are ALWAYS reproduceable in almost any circumstance.

GM states their 0-60 with 1 foot rollout so the true 0-60 would be more like 2.5-2.6 which is definitely possible for rwd on a good surface. Real world on the street, you're probably looking at high 2s low 3s though.

Ferrari pista record is also under 2.3. If im not wrong it did 2.25 in one test. Any source for the La Frrari record? Never saw it under 2.8.

The only problem with the generation corvette is the weak traction control system. None of the c8 can grip due to too much power.

I disagree completely. The C8 traction control is WAY better than any other generation of vette. Plus, being mid engine makes it put the power down so much better. It's not even close. A base model C8 would smoke a stock C7 ZR1 on the street from 0-60 and maybe even an 1/8 mile race.

The problem will come when the car is out of warranty and the inept dealer "technicians"can't repair the high tech issues. Chevrolet has the worst technician training and support system.
