I understand VW techs really disliked these rigs from all the problems they had back in the day & for good reasons. But almost 20 years on I feel like the surviving example's full potential can finally be realized. Now that they're obtainable for a reasonably low entry fee it makes them more accessible to niche enthusiasts & tuners. Dare I say the 1st gen Touareg/Cayennes are finally coming into their own!? Really enjoyed the video. Will enjoy seeing more of your experience with the Touareg👍 Liked & subd

I've got am r5 twin locked. It's an absolute machine. A mate of mine has a seriously modified v10 that's twin locked out the factory and he has a front locker as well. Ridiculous how capable that thing is. I swear it looked like it climbed a 90 degree hill (obviously not but it felt like it lol)

Gents. I dropped a pair of LED H7 low beams in my '05 Touareg. It totally transformed my evening drive experience. Highly recommend this easy mod. The Can-Bus resistor adapters are also recommended. When High Beams fail, I'll replace those with LEDs as well. Huge Difference in visibility. Cheers.

Had our Touareg 14 yrs.. wish I kept it for this, but no 4wheeling around here :( I used to run a lot less air pressure... like 5-10psi. you might want some sway bar quick disconnects too while you are at it. Atlas is more capable than I would have ever have expected.

Such fun videos, thanks again Paul and also kudos to Jack on his TIG! Am watching closely for info on adding lift to my 2017 AT... Now, who ARE the guys that did the custom suspension work for VW on the ID4 race test in Baja not too long ago? Thats the OG hub of VW bugs in Baja, and the next gen application of tech to make the mk7 platform realize its "off-road" and overlanding potential... Forge is proving the aftermarket interest is there and see B2BFAB for more...

Nice job, wheel a toureg and jeeps here in Colorado. Yep the toureg will surprise (ours has the diff locker) you but it really is no match for Jeeps and things with solid axles. But for normal forest trails and getting to most fishing spots it is nicer then a jeep. Suburas and things without a transfer case would be wise not to follow.

@daverobbins39664 жыл бұрын
In all honesty, do you really think that was a safe thing to do even by off-roaders point of view? I wheeled that trail that weekend. Not being a stick in the mud, but that was a stupid thing to do. Dislike the video because #1 That bottle in the spotters hand - soda right? #2 The guy almost rolls. He didn't roll due to luck, not driver skill. I know, his vehicle and his life. #3 Had he rolled, it would have closed down one of the most popular trails in that forest on a busy Saturday. #4 Next the forest service would evaluate the area and then probably make changes to make sure it doesn't happen again. = flatten it out and take the fun out out it. Pointing a vehicle down a hill and letting gravity do the rest is not driving.
@lynxstarautomotive2084 жыл бұрын
