Childbearing, caring for her children and managing a household can keep a woman “safe” from becoming an unoccupied ‘gossiper and meddler in other people’s affairs.’ (1 Timothy 5:11-15)

Agree! Action alone does not save a woman becoming a mom. But the relationship of her to her child is a reflection of the ultimate relationship that we all follow that of the Holy Trinity.

James 3 says Be not Many Masters knowing that we shall receive the greater damnation, being saved from the greater damnation is what She shall be saved from?

@MikeReggie Interesting alternative take. Check out this article published in the Christian Research Journal: www.equip.org/articles/are-women-saved-by-faith-plus-works-/

It would be good to have a reference to this Jewish idea where it was believed that if women died in childbirth, it was a direct punishment for Eve’s role in the fall. Where does this come from?
@BibleAnswerMan Жыл бұрын
@Mike Heath Hank is alluding to the comments from Craig S. Keener, The IVP Bible Background Commentary: New Testament (Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 1993), 1 Ti 2:15. Many women died while giving birth. The Bible, for example, tells of Rachel dying giving birth to Benjamin (Gen. 35) and the wife of Phinehas passed away while giving birth to Ichabod (1 Sam. 4). Death is ultimately the result of the fall per Genesis 3 and Romans 1-8.

Hi Hank, Are you still an Eastern Orthodox Christian? Asking out of interest, as I greatly appreciate much of the EO church :)

I believe so. I converted to Holy Orthodoxy from Protestantism about 6 years ago and could never go back. It would be like giving up Christ himself.

Hank converted to Eastern Orthodoxy in 2017 and is a practicing Orthodox Christian.

It is so easy to understand that I do not like how Christians make it so much more difficult than it needs to be. 1 Timothy 2:15 [15]Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. Genesis 3:16 [16]Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Because Eve listen to The serpent the punishment was birthing pains and monthly pains. These are constant reminders and chastisements to women to not follow in Eve's footsteps. So through childbearing which will bring that sorrow and pain in her conception she will be saved if it follows with faith and keeping God's laws.

Yes but only Jesus saves so why does Timothy says the opposite of what Jesus did??
@studentofthesaviors.o.s10 ай бұрын
@@aspieangel1988 no Jesus doesn't only save, he ultimately saves. In Matthew 19:16 - 17 he tells you that you have to keep the Commandments in order to be saved. so no Jesus doesn't only save he ultimately does because without him there would be no grace to repent and keep the commandments. Secondly this is not Timothy this is Paul writing to Timothy
@aspieangel198810 ай бұрын
This is confusing! Jesus taught we can only be saved through him so why did Timothy teach otherwise? Jesus also taught women can speak and teach in church so why did Paul teach otherwise? Unless Jesus opinion is different from his Fathers?

Begging the question, saved from what?
@BibleAnswerMan Жыл бұрын
Hank is answering the question about this verse-eg what does it mean. 1 Timothy 2:15 "But women will be saved through childbearing-if they continue in faith, love, and holiness with propriety."
