I can't believe that Thai chilies are hotter than a habanero pepper. In Malaysia we usually have it in Thai Tom Yam, fiery sambal or chopped up chilies in fish sauce or soy sauce.

I think the hotness peaks at number 8 then subsides - which is interesting if by design. It's well known green chilies are hotter then red. Also habaneros are about three times hotter than Thai birds eye chilies. Although having said that it's unknown what is in the added sauces.
