Honesty, I’ve thought about doing a priority moves run AND a separate ‘weak moves’ run (using only moves with less that 60 base power). Both would be challenging in their own ways.

Since you're using a randomizer, why not just insert the desired Pokémon? For this particular run, you could also use a legitimate game cartridge and trade in eggs of the missing Pokémon. Suggestion for future Nuzlockes: Don't count it as a fail until every Pokémon you've caught is dead, including the ones in the PC. It gives the B-team (and C, and D...) a chance, and keeps you from having to start at square one. It wouldn't work for this particular challenge though, since you had a very limited selection. I like the shorter intro, as well as the narrative choices. Thanks for your hard work. ☺

Randomizing a 3DS game is a bit more tricky. I also didn’t know enough about it to make it work. In fact, just this week, I learned how to use PKHex to insert any Pokémon into any game. So I could do it more legitimately if I tried it again lol. That’s a good suggestion! Assuming I have more than 6 encounters captured. I’ll keep it in mind. Thanks for the feedback!! My thoughts on the Lysandre battle is that the first 2 battles don’t really count because you proved that you could easily win with Malamar and Salamence.

What emulator are you using for 3ds Pokemon games?

I personally use Citra. I’ve heard that some games have trouble emulating, but I’ve never had any major issues with any Pokémon games. Some roms of XY have cutscene glitches that black out the background. When I played Ultra Sun, doing the Ultra Wormhole was tricky. Otherwise, Citra works perfectly for me.

Larvitar and Pupitar are available in Y, but not X. I didn’t know how to cheat in any Pokémon that I wanted, so I prioritized getting Mega Zard X over Tyranitar. Now that I know how to do that, I kinda want to retry this run with JUST his Kalos team.

True, but Tyranitar is a Y exclusive. And I didn’t know how to hack in Pokémon until after this challenge, so I made some subs. This was all explained in the intro and when I caught each of those ‘mons.

@@BerryNerdCorner Because he is the reason XY, which was shaping up to be the best generation ever, was tarnished. He disgraced the Kalos League, not just by ruining the Finals, but by collecting all 8 Badges in about 10 episodes, which basically just spits on the journey Ash and other trainers take. I didn't even bother finishing watching XYZ after how the Kalos Finals ended, and it's all Alain's and his overgrown lizard's fault. I'm just glad karma caught up to him when Leon gave him what he deserved.

That’s fair! Sawyer probably had better build-up, at least in the main series, as a final rival for Ash. Much of Alain’s character and story was in the Mega Evolution specials.
