Emailed the Ceo of Can Am. Then they replaced the plastic for free but didn't fix the issue. So I sold the machine after it got fixed and been trash talking Can Am since. Hope I cost them sales.

I had a 2018 that did the same thing.......wrap your exhaust and installed a slipon and install a tuner to add more fuel and it will be a lot better.

I sold it with 124 miles on it. I want sticking any more money into a machine that is over priced already.

Did you ever get the melting resolved? We have the same problems with three machines and they just said we ride to slow.

we have a 2015 can-am outlander max xt 1000 2up in camo,, we paid just over 16 grand for it,, it runs really hot,, but we haven't had 1 single issue,, we love it,, it sounds like a heat wrap/shielding issue to me but can-am should stand behind they're warranty, and the dealer gets reimbursed by the way,, you can always buy a polaris and risk catching on fire,, me.. i'll stick with can-am,,, get a yamaha or honda,,,,

Riding too slow??!!! When you find the attorney, let me know too please.

Contacted 3 attorneys, not one works return my call. I emailed the coordinator of Can Am. They then replaced the plastic but fixed nothing. So I sold the atv.

Did you ever get a resolution from BRP?

After emailing the CEO, they replaced the plastic for me but would not fix the issue. So I sold it after getting all new plastic.

I have the same issue. 2016 XMR 1000. Melted the plastics, seat and battery. I have read online and found a solution. Wrap the headers with rockwool. Put rockwool on the plastics where the heat shield are. And it works so far. 10hrs plastics and seat did not melt. However, the small hole on the battery tray still melted the corner of the battery slightly. Need to find a solution to that now.

Cut a big hole in the plastic under the radiator helps also. But it's the point you shouldn't have to modify a stock machine to ride it safely.

I have a 2013 XMR 1000 and mine just started doing the exact same thing but the odd part is nothing has changed since I owned it and it just started melting things this August. Even melted the battery causing it to fail! All after 10 minutes of use in the bush behind my house! I have the HMF XL pipe but am considering wrapping it now
@andrewgoggins12925 жыл бұрын
That pipe makes it run hotter you might need a fuel tuner

I have the same bike and had the same problem the did everything that can am told them that they could do long story short after new exhaust and refund of motor rebuild new ecm new cluster come to find out it had 650 injectors from factory they gave them the right injectors for a 1000 no more burning plastic or running around with the hot ass Everything on the left side has been replaced 7 times. I called cam am and told them I wonted to file arbitration. They said we are going to fix this before you file

That side engine plastic is just a bad idea why is it there holding heat in my renagade. Is open there

Chris Dix I pulled mine all of. It’s tabbed together on the lower. The pipe has a heat shielding tunnel that gets hot as shit!

I've been seeing more and more people posting about this issue. Why don't they address it avx fix the issue. Can you imagine if they pinned the California forest fires on one of these catching fire?

I have a 2019 can am outlander XT Max 850 and I don't have any issues, but then again I don't ride likei don't own it too. I think riding it through deep mud hole doesn't do the ventilation system any justice, all your heat shields are no longer reflective and now have become heatsinks. Just my thoughts 😂👀😜

My Polaris used to get hot and bubble the gas, haven’t had this issue on my 850 xmr yet but man that is a tough issue. Is it real hot where you ride? Even though that’s no excuse but damn they should do something for you
@NorthCountryBoyz7 жыл бұрын
Yeah.....that’s rough. Did they do anything for you? I haven’t had that issue with my Polaris 1000XP. It gets warm...but. It plastic melting warm!

North Country Boyz After sending an email to the CEO of can am, I got a call from the dealer that they will replace all the plastic and the dealer will wrap the exhaust. I don't agree with the dealer having to flip any oof the bill, but that's not my argument to me in. Not sure that will help, but I'll know soon. Should be getting it back soon.

I know a bunch of people that ride CanAm. Some have the 850's and some the 1000's in which I haven't seen or heard any of them having this issue. It sucks either way when you drop 14k on a new bike and something like this happens. We know nothing is going to be perfect, mistakes happen, and they have to be fixed. I just hope whomever has to get involved....does so! Heck, if they have to give you a whole new bike, well then that is what they have to do. No questions should be asked! Buy a faulty piece of equipment, return it, refund or exact change out. Simple as that. Happy customer remains unless the same issues happen with the replacement....then you buy a Polaris ;-)

I have a 2016 Outlander 1000 Max XT and have gone through two seats and two sets of plastics. It recently melted my brake fluid reservoir, leaving me with no brakes. Can Am refuses to make things right. I'm done with Can Am. @@NorthCountryBoyz
@NorthCountryBoyz5 жыл бұрын
D H same happened on my friends 207 850 Outlander. However they didn’t cover his melted plastics. My Polaris 1000 gets hot that is for sure but has yet to melt any plastics. Though with the stage 3 dyno jet tune that I’m going with for it...something tells me I might want to use some heat tape and not sparingly. Lol. What are you looking at for your next machine?
