@TheLeonardoRF bascially, each system has it's one positives and negatives and riders will usually prefer whichever they are most familiar with, whatever they ride, hence why even with it's negative I still prefer the manual 4WD and manual locking front dif. of my Grizzly

Have a can am 400 -2009 visco at my work,, we try to plow with it at a ski resort. and i can tell you that the 4x4 visco fucking crap shit worked 2-3 years. now we have 4x4 sometimes and deffenently no diff lock, runs like a 2wd atv in snow.. But we have a old Kodiak 450 -2004 with diff lock/4x4 on comand. we use that one when its raining or snowing. and it works like a dream :) the can am is for sunny days and flat surfaces :)
@MangoMando177613 жыл бұрын
@TheLeonardoRF yeah, because Polaris has on demand AWD, right? Oh, wait, no, to get any 4WD out of it the rear tires have to slip for it to engage the front at all. I ain't hating, if you ride you ride, and that's far better than not riding, but in my experiences, Polaris's break shit all the time. My buddy's Can-am has held up well so far, and my Grizzly is fucking bullet proof, and I vastly prefer it's on-command 4WD and manual dif. lock over the Can-am auto-locking visco lock, but I could see

Yamaha would be my second choice. My 13 year old Outlander 500XT has yet to give me any problems. I can't say that about the Polaris garbage.

MUCH. My father just got the 1000 XMR and it is unbelievable. Better than a Polaris even....
@PlayafromtheHimalayas10 жыл бұрын
For those saying 3 wheel drive, why would you want to equally distribute power to a wheel that's just spinning? You would be losing 25% of your power to a wheel that's doing nothing. I know maths iz hard fo sum ya'll.....
@Slowerthnyou999 жыл бұрын
Really after you learn how the system works and you adapt it works pretty good. No, it is not AWD on demand but, I can tell you I broke front diffs regularly in my RZR. For longevity the Visco QE is pretty stout. The newest QE models engage much more quickly than previous years. I do not have complaints and I enjoy both Polaris and Can-Am models.

@jari626 Ei ruukaa olla Kyllähän tuo visco ihan kiitettävästi pelaa, vaikka omassa 400:ssa onkin tuota hitaampaa mallia, mutta toimii sekin :)
@grossepatatechaude11 жыл бұрын
how many times do the tires need to spin in order for the front diff to lock? I notice that you make them spin a little than stop than you try again and they engage right away.

Only thing I hate about my renegade is the visco lok! Brp should copy yamahas diff lock button for sure!
@deanbassist0113 жыл бұрын
@forrest225 This doesnt have to stop to go over, infact if he didnt stop he would have just gone over, it looks like he is just purposely trying to point out the flaws. Dont get me wrong, i like an actual lock, but this is just trying to make it look worse then it is.
@SkyJunper13 жыл бұрын
@suchocurse Yeah well Iw ould still get the commander, this isnt a good vid of the diff lock for it to work well you have togive a little gas, these guys arent giving enough...trust me the can-am's diff lock is way beter, i stays lockted until you stop moving, its simply beter!

that still doesnt look any better than before still a crappy 4x4 system...i'm spoiled with my awd

@TheLeonardoRF it's advantage with both auto-locking system. On mine, I can't shift on the fly, so I have to stop to engage 4WD. So if Im going through something in 2wd and get hung up, I have to lose all my momentum to shift into it. That's not a big deal, cuz I always think ahead and if I think I may even maybe need it I shift into 4WD. Now, the visco lok, I can see being better cuz if I get hung up in a mud hole, I have to stop to lock mine up. A Can-Am will auto-lock when it starts to slip
@TheLeonardoRF13 жыл бұрын
Is the same stupid visco lock i like the awd for polaris and 4x4 Yamaha

You guys are hilarious. Polaris does not begin to compare to Can-Am. The Visco-lok system is BY FAR the best 4wd system on the market. Plus, it's bullet proof, so no HUGE repair bills and very little down time for Can-Am vs. Polaris over the life of the machines.
@AdBul_8 жыл бұрын
+Sir Wilbur not even close to best 4x4.. take a look to yamaha or artic cat etc with real locker on the front
@gagecook20248 жыл бұрын
Nononono sir Polaris has the best possible 4wd system on the market the automatic lock in the front diff works almost unnoticeabley. You don't have to play with locking diff buttons that's why it's called AWD on demand
@AdBul_8 жыл бұрын
+Gage Cook automatic locker can really hurt you.. if you are sliding on ice or something, it hooks up and gets traction, you have hard time keeping your machine on control
@gagecook20248 жыл бұрын
+Saksugamer yes but the tire does not even rotate half a turn until it locks up and when the diff locks up you have no where near enough speed in the tires for it to negatively affect you. Just much two cents. I've had my 2005 500 sportsman for all its life and have never had a problem with it.
@AdBul_8 жыл бұрын
+Gage Cook well i dont know about your polaris but few of my friends have 2010-2014 sportsmans and one of them was in the hospital for 2.5 weeks because the diff locked while slide and drove to tree next to the road..

KING QUAD, yamaha grizzly and brute force front locker. when you are in you know you are in. no tire spin! no waiting for the 4th wheel to lock up! you are in control of the quad not the quad in control of you. on a mountain trail, in extreme conditions you don't always have room for tire spin. you need all four wheels to spin instantly.
