Hey Nick, love the vids. I have a 2007 Outlander 800 Max that I am about to begin tearing down to replace the chain and guides (my hope is that the I only need to replace the tensioner-side guides, thus leaving the heads in place). I also intend to clean the oil screen and saw a few posts and vids on how to remove the screen w/o splitting the case by way of the through-shaft openings. I caught in this video; you saying that the through-shaft can be removed while the engine is still cradled in the frame...is this correct? If so, does that mean that one simply needs to remove the transmission and bang the sucker out? In your opinion: would it be easier to accomplish what I "hope" to accomplish by leaving the engine in the frame, or is it quicker and easier overall to yank it? Thanks for making these...they are huge helps!

Never mind; ended up having to R/R the engine and heads; now that I have performed this procedure, I feel like an idiot for asking the above questions, lol. Thanks again for the vids...was absolutely critical to the job!

hey man, quick question...I got my rear bearing done and all back together now I got a slow leak from the dif. on the side I changed the bearing and some grease oozing from the boot kit of the axle I changed the bearing as well. the folks at the cycle shop told me to rebuild the diff. but I am thinking I buggered up the seal I dropped the axle while I was putting the axle back in the diff and I hit the metal ring bumping it back in the diff. should I rebuild the diff or just do a seal kit? it never leaked before and only has around 600 miles on it if that. thanks for any help

i would do a seal kit with 600 miles your diff should not have a bad bearing unless the seal has been leaking for a while. i would check the diff fluid to help narrow that down but the seals if damaged while cause water and mud to get inside the diff. Do the seal kit first for sure
