You've done a great job on accessorizing your machine. All very practical, yet look great. Couldn't help but notice the oxidation on your mirrors. You may already know this, but there's a product called "Wipe New" that takes that oxidation off and makes your plastic look new again. It lasts for quite awhile and leaves no residue. It's not a silicone product, so it doesn't collect dust either. It smells like ammonia when you open the bottle, but after you apply it to the plastic, it smells like bubble gum - lol. I've even used it on my colored body panels and it made them look amazing! Good video. Thanx for sharing.

Great video and information. Stumbled onto your channel a year ago. Found an 800 trail up for repo auction. Bought it very right. 100 miles on it. Quickly did the battery upgrade and O'riellys mud flap modification (best $15 spent). Pandemic hit, someone wanted the rig waaay more than I did, so I sold it. Needed any extra time to do a complete home renovation. Now I'm ready for 1000 trail. Anxious to see the side by side of the 2021 machine. Keep up the great work. Appreciate your style and integrity. Hey, I added an backup camera to the bumblebee and leave it on all the time, it really adds to the ability to see what’s behind me when going down the road/trail. Purchased the backup via Amazon, wireless one for $80.00. Also added the EZflares to the front, which allows me to maintain the 50” width and it reduce the mud and water by 75%, with the cheap automotive mud flaps to the front.

I came back to your channel to source a cargo box for our trails. I thought that I had previously seen a Husky tool box in your unit, but I could be wrong. I was disappointed to see that you had a Ryfab box in the back, but thats my opinion. Aside from the kings ransom they charge for it and after the horrible experience I had with Ryfab products and their go F yourself customer service, I wouldn't cross the street to do any business with them or ever recommend them to any atver I might meet. Anyway, I totally agree about the Terra Bite tires. They are awesome all around performers and a good value to boot. The mud flap addition is a must. It doesn't take long for the tail lights to get encrusted with crud and the mud flaps really help with that. Lastly, the Seizmic Mirrors are a must over the poor Can-Am mirrors and those folks stand behind their stuff.
@MyATVlife8 ай бұрын
I never had a husky box. I bought the Ryfab box as soon as it came out back in 2018. Back then they were “reasonably” priced compared to other options and their quality was outstanding. Fast forward a few years and their prices skyrocketed, their quality went to shit, and their waiting list was ridiculous. I haven’t recommended Ryfab for years because of this. But at the time and the price I paid I would buy this box again. It’s amazing. Ryfab is no more. They closed their doors a while back. There was talk of RMATV absorbing the brand, but apparently that didn’t happen. Supply chain issues, personnel issues, among other things killed of the brand, along with many other self inflicted problems.

Thanks much for all the details. At 8:32 you show but don't mention a wrap of rope on the front. Looks like a significant length so what is it? Thanks!
@MyATVlife3 жыл бұрын
Long answer:So, that goes back to our ATV days in Moab. We all had lengths of rope tied to the front. Going up and over a steep obstacle we would string out that rope and others would keep it tight as the machine went up the obstacle. Not to help pull it up, but to keep tension to keep the ATV from flipping over backwards. We used it for other things here and there, but that was the primary purpose of it. When I sold a few ATVs I had the rope laying around, so I just tied a piece to the front of the MT. We've only taken it to Moab once and really didn't need the rope, but now it just seems like a handy place to store a length of rope. Ya just never know when you might need it. Short answer: just a piece of rope just in case I need it. 😆👍

Hi again, you mentioned the tube diameter of the roll cage for that install of the Tusk scissor jack. Did you have to get a different size clamp other than the one that comes with the jack kit? Thanks
@MyATVlife2 жыл бұрын
If I remember right there were a few options for the clamp size at purchase. I just got the one that fit. I don't remember which one, but I had to use the rubber piece between the clamp and cage to make it fit (the rubber piece came with the clamp). It was installed a few years ago and hasn't budged a bit, very solid mount. I did wrap a big zip tie around the mount and Jack just to make sure that it wouldn't fall on my head if the Jack came out of the mount. It hasn't, but the zip tie makes me feel better.

I still really enjoy riding my ATV. The Maverick Trail is way more comfortable, and long 100 mile days don't beat me up nearly as bad as a long day on the ATV. Curious, when you haul in the 10 foot guarge in you trail do you remove the spare tire carrier or just remove the tire.
@MyATVlife2 жыл бұрын
Back when I had the 27 inch tires on my MT (like it is in this video) I had to remove the spare tire carrier completely to get it in the garage. It's not hard to do. Remove two nuts and pull the pin and it comes right off. Now that my MT has 29 inch tires it won't fit in there at all, even with the spare tire carrier removed, so I just haul it on a trailer towed behind the toy hauler. It's easier that way for me anyway since I don't have to remove or modify anything. Jr's machine still fits in the garage, so that's usually how we haul them. His machine in the garage and ours on a trailer towed behind.

Great channel, started watching last year when we got 2019 800 trail. We really like your setup. Couple of questions when you have time, will ryfab cargo box fit with the can am rack extensions that we installed? Did tusk tires need spacers don’t want to push the 50 inch rule and have you put a lift kit for clearance or thinking of it. Thanks from your neighbor in Montana
@MyATVlife3 жыл бұрын
Not sure which extension you are talking about. The one that tilts up, or the one that attaches to the rear of the bed (like a tailgate)? If it's either of those it won't work. Box is too tall for the flip up and the rear extension will kind of fit, but will block the latches to the cargo box. Not sure if that answers your question... My tires are 27x9-12 on all 4 corners with stock wheels, no spacers. Did not increase overall stock width, it just moved the widest point to the front axle instead of the rear (front is now about 1/2 inch wider than the rear, no biggie). Have no issues getting through 50 inch gates here in Idaho and Utah. No lift kit. Most of the lift kits are shock bracket style lifts and from what I hear it really stiffens up the ride. I prefer low and soft. Best way to gain lift without sacrificing ride quality is go a larger diameter tire in my opinion. 👍

Noticed that you don't have a windshield. Is there a reason?
@MyATVlife2 жыл бұрын
Several reasons really. We wear helmets and goggles, so a windshield isn't necessary. They create a negative airspace behind them that pulls dust into the cab. People buy them to reduce dust, but I think they make the dust worse. They also make the cab hot in the Summer. I have considered many times getting a fold down windshield (Ryfab, Tusk, or Razorback Off-road) just to have a windshield that I could put up when it rains, but leave folded down most of the time, but really just don't need it. I hear a lot of people complain about the dust, the noise, and the heat and in every case they have a windshield in their machine, removing it solves all of those problems.

Stock tire are poor as you point out---and about 25". What can i do for tire size increase and what tire do you prefer?
@MyATVlife3 жыл бұрын
27x9-12 tires on all 4 corners will fit on your stock wheels and will give you about 1/2 inch of increased ground clearance. I'm a big fan of my Tusk Terrabites. Over 3400 mikes on them now and still perform great. If you want to step up to a 14 inch wheel you could fit a 28 inch tire easily. 30's will fit, but will rub at full lock.

Not sure if I want a Maverick trail or the Outlander XT-P yet.
@MyATVlife3 жыл бұрын
I feel ya there. I still really love riding my ATV. If I could only have one I'm not sure which I'd choose either. Biggest benefits for the Maverick is that you can carry two people together in one machine and get about the same fuel mileage as an ATV. And riding in the MT for 100+ miles I don't feel nearly as beat up as 100+ miles on an ATV. But ATVs are just easier to maneuver, and get out of tight spots than a SXS. There are still some trails that I won't take my Maverick Trail on that I'd do on my ATV no problem. We're hoping to add another ATV to our fleet soon just cuz my wife does miss her ATV, but she does love the MT. Seriously tuff call, but you really can't go wrong either way. 👍

On the Paiute trails I'd say no. I have around an inch of wiggle room through most of the gates and no wiggle room through a few of them. Rock sliders put your machine at around 54 inches, I'd guess most of the gates on the Paiute are 53 or less. Arapeen system also has a few very tight 50 inch gates. And we subscribe to you. I enjoy watching you Southerners ride. Gives us northerners something to look forward to while we're snowed in. Congratulations on the new machine ! Can't wait to see your adventures with it. 👍

Tooooo Muchhhhhh detail! A little less detail would make the videos more interesting. And yes Ryfab makes some very good looking products. iam waiting for my dealer to get my trail model in sometime in June.
