You shouldn't have to being that these clutches are self contained and not spring loaded like the older Can Am clutches.

Is the PCP-16 the same clutch puller for a 2013 Maverick 1000?

Yes the PCP-16 is the same as what we use on your 13 Maverick. We have seen on some the X3 models the clutches coming off very hard and have switched to the PCP-15 which is a Ski Doo that is the same fitment but had a thicker tip on it to help pull the clutches off better. So really you can use either the PCP-16 or the PCP-15

The EPI website says the correct puller is PCP 15, but TNT video says PCP 16. Which is correct?

Both will work. Originally we used the PCP-16 but found some clutches are coming off harder then normal. So we updated the fitment to the PCP-15 which has a thicker end on it to make it stronger and less chance of bending. So if your buying one now, buy the PCP-15

Hey man, i need a lil help, do u know what way the arrows suppose to be pointing on the piston on a can-am Renegade 1000cc 2014yr that's the only thing stop me from putting it back together

For the piston I am not sure. I believe it suppose to point to the exhaust side on most models but I don't know that for sure. Sorry I cant give you an exact answer on that one.

Our machine shop is way behind right now so we are waiting on the weights to made, then heat treated and then plated. Primary and secondary springs should be here mid July and the weights will by around Aug 1st. Sorry for the delay.

That would normally be an issue with the actual transmission or the shifter linkage to the transmission. The clutches wouldn't cause that issue.

Hello, My belt broke off and when I replaced it the gears are hard to engage and I purchased another belt thinking maybe worng belt but to no avail. I can't change gears once the engine is on I have to turn off then change from Hi to Park. Do you have any idea what it might be? Any help is appreciated.

The problem you are having is usually caused by the center bearing on the primary clutch being worn out, locked up, or there might be a piece of rubber or string from the blown belt stuck in the bearing or maybe even another part of the clutch and not allowing the clutch to disengage. Remove your belt and see of the bearing turns freely. There should also be a little black plastic washer on each side of the bearing. Sometimes if the belt blows it brakes that washer out of there and allows the clutch to spin the being causing your issue. Inspect your bearing, if it all seems good your gonna have to take the primary clutch apart further.

Sometimes they can be a pain. Heat doesn't work well because it in the cent of the clutch. Sometimes having another person hold it still helps. There are a few places that make a tool that seperates it apart other then the factory. Bikeman Performance and Alba Racing both make one that work well for that hard ones.

if you have the 17-19 with 154 and 172hp it should be A-4 setting. If you have the 120hp it should be C-2 setting.

by replacing the stuff you did what does it help? also, would this help with the jerk you get from going from a dead stop to just moving.

We make a couple different kits depending on your tire size and type of riding you are doing (trail, mud, sand). The kits will give you better low end and mid range power, top end speed will stay the same on most kits but you will get up to faster. You will also get faster backshift and throttle response and will grip the belt better then stock. The oversize tire kits will keep your clutches in lower gear longer to help make up for the power loss of the larger tires. It does help the jerk a little but doesn't take it out completely. The jerk can be several different things including driveline slop, belt the is worn skinny and/or long, dirty or worn clutches.

Does changing weights and/or springs help with the dreaded 5k rpm loud as hell chatter?

It will help smooth it out. Some of that will vary depending on your tires, speed, what gear your in and the overall condition of your belt and clutches also. Overall the kit will get you better and smoother performance.

Hopefully I'll find a solution to it, if not it's bad enough to almost make me sell it, gonna go to my local dealer and see if I can talk them into putting the new 2020 model clutches and cover on my 19, supposedly it's way quieter.

I put a noise reduction kit from adrenaline cycle on my x3 and it helped but did not solve it. Hope the 2020 model clutch setup works as I will change it out.

I recently added the adrenaline cycle relocation kit and I feel the 5k noise is 90% better. I’m very happy with it.

The Can Am part number is 529036428. Some local dealers will sell the tools to you and some don't. Usually if you cant find it local you can find a dealer online that will sell it to you.

13:50 hi can someone help me out is normal to have that groove near the shaft? i have about 150 hrs on my machine and my primary looks exactly like that. Can it be possible that my aftermarket belt did that? I have a WBB from about 50hrs to about now.

A couple things can cause a groove there (or a combination of them all). Usually the biggest thing is belt slippage. This can be cuase from driving real slow in high range, larger tires, or loading the clutches hard in mud or pulling. But if your clutching is not set right for you riding it can cause it and also if the belt is to hard it can cause it. Best thing to do is use low range more often, get a clutch kit for your tire size and riding, clean and maintenance your clutches more often and inspect belt and replace if needed.

Will the epi pro series be a good kit for 35s?

Yes it would be! The instruction will tell you the combination of springs and weights that will work the best for you. It will give you a lot more bottom end power and torque, faster backshift and throttle response and will grip the belt better then stock in both clutches.

@@stroke0187 yes it should, thats the beauty of the adjustable weights that it give you room to tune for different tunes. If all of a sudden you make it 300 hp you might need something different but otherwise should be good to go.

For the 2017 the primary clutch is 89 ft/lbs and the secondary is 52 ft/lbs. I would assume the 2018 are the same but I don't have any specs on that one yet.

You can get the puller and the clutch compression tool from EPI or EPI dealer. Clutch puller part number PCP-16, clutch compression tool is CCT820. The clutch holding tool is and OE Can Am part number 529036428. You should be able to order that through your local dealer or online from a can am place.

Put your kit in my 18 xds turbo r with a stage 3 tune and 32 inch tires the up shift appears slightly lazy what changes can i make to get to peak rpm a bit faster. Thanks

some of the different tunes on the X3 need a little lighter weight t help them pick up rpms higher faster. Sometimes you can get by with a different stiffer primary spring. We would need to know which kit of ours you have and then we can go from there. Best bet is to call our tech line at 218-826-6036 and they will see what they can come up with.

@@BarrySwartz-nq2yy I’m right at 8000 and it gets to 8000 as soon as you hit the throttle. I’m in the middle of going to a stage 4 tune and waiting on a KWI kit to get here. The EPI kit served me well never blew a belt and had made real good power once I got the new spring installed. It wasn’t really to bad before just you could watch the RPM go to about 7200 ish then do a steady climb up to 8k

I ordered a pink spring and it seems so much larger than the stock one felt it wasn't right. It is for a maverick X3, I wanted to compare a stock size if maybe it is supposed to be that big. Any help would be appreciated, I know alot of people are not modifying the Ryker and tough to get any assistance.

We are still finalizing the clutch kits. We are hoping to have them done real soon. The clutch compression tool CCT820 is available now and the so is the Severe Duty Belt.
