If what you said is true, then why did the Can Am in the video not smoke the Grizzly in the video like you so confidently said it would literally ANY time? If what you said is true, then why did the Can Am Visco-Lock not lock like it should have most of the time, which did seem to hamper it? If what you said is true, then why did the Can Am show no advantage at all over the Grizzly in the mud hole?
@armedfarm34292 жыл бұрын
Visco-lock is the worst of the bunch, no joke.
@williamhalford66912 жыл бұрын
@@armedfarm3429 I agree. I prefer locking my differential before it's needed, rather than having to lose traction and spin a tire before it locks. That's a clear disadvantage. And since the viscous fluid depends on heat caused by friction to work, it looks like the cold weather is affecting its operation too. It's nice for normal riding, it works okay for most situations, but can be a problem in technical, difficult situations like this.
@ChillX2-100013 жыл бұрын
@4chanhatesyoutodeath we can lock in all 4 on our yammys. 99% of the time we dont need it and 3 wheel is all we need to keep up with everyone else!

lol i find it funny i think a lot of these videos are just some peoples off days where they cant ride and than it turns into brand bashing than one guy watches one video and thinks thats all he needs to see to decide which brand to buy on a normal day couldve done it on my 450xc but on an off day probably wouldve tried to go around

Its not really how big or bad ass your quad is.. Its more how well you know your quad and what you need to do to get through or up something. So comparing quads really doesn't make a difference. Look at the grizzly 700, The guy went in and almost tipped er because he road the wall instead of the feel for the mud hole, The guy on the 650 it looked as if he barely knew what he was doing, The first guy that went through knew his quad pretty good and what he was doing.

@WKHalford12 жыл бұрын
Although the rider makes a big difference, so can the ATV. For instance, more ground clearance and bigger, aggresive mud tires versus stock ground clearance and factory tires will make it easier for the rider to get through the mud hole. A better equipped/designed ATV often takes less skill to go where the rider wants to go. And even between stock ATVs, IRS versus swingarm, locker versus limited slip, weight, power can make a difference. Even removing the swaybar on an IRS ATV can help.

Outty 800's can't keep up with a grizzly in the mud. I have a grizzly, been out with ca ams before they are good but not up to par. Visco lock fuckin blows, and they are heavier than fuck with weak frames. And yes the engine brake is good just require ALOT of maintenace where as the yammie needs virtually none. Unless you swamp it of course

How is what tomwil said stupid? He stated FACTS, facts aren't stupid. The facts are: (1) The Yamaha has a locker that when locked is NOT 3wd like the guy said (2) The Yamaha rider didn't lock his locker (3) The Yamaha locker can be locked BEFORE it goes in the mud (4) The Can Am did indeed have 3 wheels spinning. Visco Lock doesn't always work. He NEVER said they weren't both good ATVs. The rider and tires make MUCH of the difference, but not ALL. The machine CAN make a difference.

@fortmcmurraycash not true my friend...I have towed plenty of bears out of the mud with my can-am 800 xt and trust me both are great bikes. Can xt's are heavier than single seater quads I agree but the single seater can-am is just as light or lighter than other quads, with "strong frames". Plus the suspension system is much simpler than the yamaha's and requires much less maintenance. Not a Can-am fanboy i'm just saying both are great bikes.

@Tristan10210010 жыл бұрын
trust me, there are some mechanical geniouses in the world that would be scratching their head trying to spell " a "
@williamhalford66912 жыл бұрын
That's "Positraction" (also called Posi), which is a GM tradename for their brand of multiplate clutch type limited slip differential. They were a good limited slip differential, but still a limited slip, and by no means a locker. If one tire has enough traction to create enough torque difference, those Positraction clutches will slip, very much like how the Can Am's Visco Lok did. Eaton Corporation now owns the Positraction brand, but since neither GM nor Eaton never made them for ATVs, you bringing up Positraction is irrelevant anyway.
