No offense, but I thought the 6 month rule was common knowledge. It’s on every official website for passports. Some countries worked out a deal with the US to waive that, but as a general rule they say 6 months.

None taken. We did know as a typical rule that most countries want six months validity, however, that is for 90 day visas. In this case, Turkey does allow you to have less time on your passport if you wanted a shorter visa, but they were not responding. This trip was actually pushed back five months, so we actually forgot about the expiration, as well.

I was able to expedite the renewal of my passport and, the shipping to and from the passport facility, in 3 weeks.

I just renewed my passport with standard processing and was surprised when it only took six weeks! I mailed it off the last week of June, and got the new passport three days ago. No idea how it happened so fast, but I’m not complaining!

happy that all worked out for you!! was also glad to see that you got the 52 page passport-i actually had to renew my passport 9 months early bc had no more blank pages for stamps and they won't add pages to your passport now like they used to! went on a world cruise 2019-thank goodness pre Covid!-and there are so many rules for different countries concerning how to get a visa, when to get it, how many blank pages required left--it was really something to work through!

Yes, we were so happy it was all able to work out! Some of the countries requirements can be pretty outrageous, so we are glad we got the bigger book.

Way back in the early 80s I needed an emergency passport . . . called my representative in Dallas at the time and he talked me through how to get it in Houston.

@@ChubbyAndAway you do realize there are ancient Egyptian ruins IN Turkey, don’t you? There is a temple to Isis as well as several newer discoveries. Ephesus is a good starting point, then Istanbul. A waiter on a RCCL ship told me about them. He was from Turkey.

Hello! We got ours at CVS. Both CVS and Walgreens have a pretty quick turn around time of 1-2 days. It gets sent to your email or phone app.
