you can always use something like the keymander for games that don't support keyboard and mouse. for me it's great because it supports custom game profiles and whatnot. i'm so bad at fps games with a controller but not all gamepass games are available on pc

You could just use a M&K adaptor but most Devs and MS consider this cheating depending on what games your playing. If your only playing single player or casual games then it should be fine.

I'll be honest, about 50% of the reason I clicked this video was its length. Had it been 5-7 mins though I still would have clicked. I found myself wanting something a bit more in-depth on such a good concept like this. Had it not been so late at night I'd have clicked a 10-20 min video on this subject easily. I would do the same thing, but I like the enjoyment of modding game files and playing multiplayer for free, which is why I'm stuck with gaming on PC. (I'm aware that f2p games on Xbox, multiplayer is free, but they're riddled with microtransactions that dampens the experience. Like some of Halo Infinite's customization is over the top ridiculous.

I got one for New Years so I won’t use my pc for most of my gaming since I use it for intensive 3d projects. One of my best decisions of late. My Games run so smooth that I feel like it is better than playing on pc. The only small downside is the graphics won’t match my pc, but I prefer the performance over visuals anyway, so it’s not that bad when I think about it.

I didn't exactly replace my gaming pc with it but at least I didn't have to pay scalpers for a new graphics card and I can know that I can play new games without worrying if my outdated pc can handle it. The browser is surprisingly useful too. I used it with astroprint to hook up to my 3d printer with octoprint and I use it alot for Amazon shopping. 😁 I need my gaming pc for emulators and video capture and editing. Also I will be using it to play Sony exclusives.

Wi-fi on my series s gets 50mb/s….My gigabit ethernet connection on my gaming pc gets 6mb/s…. Microsoft did the wifi AMAZINGly well on the xbox.

Xbox opened my eyes this gen. I see them like apple’s ecosystem. I bought two Series X’s and one Series S. So i have 3 xbox’s where i have never owned one before. Have been with Sony since 2009. I can pick up and continue on any of the three xbox i bought without doing anything …….like what??? To be fair, if sony did that, i would go back to sony. I suppose that just shows how important that “ecosystem feature” is for me. I just want seamless enjoyment and i’ll go wherever i can get that bc its about the games. Mine hasn't replaced my gaming PC, but it is on the same monitor as my pc and gets almost equal use overall, especially since it is easy to just fire up for 10 min here or 20 min there with quick resume. If someone is on a budget, especially in the gpu market of the past 1-2yrs, it is worth just grabbing. Fun little machine. Especially for those that like SFF PCs anyway, its the SFF of consoles this gen (well, other than Switch I guess).

it depends on what games you are playing... I played sims 4 on the PS4 once and it was a nightmare, trying to build a house with the 2 joysticks. Switched it to a keyboard & mouse combo and it felt just like the pc version... now that my PS4 had died perhaps i should switch to the Xbox series S

@@anusmcgee4150 It's a good generation of consoles but the entire point of not gaming on a console and gaming on a PC instead is so you can get all the wacky indy games that don't come out on consoles. The big games have always been on consoles, often exclusively so that's always the place to be for AAA gaming. My son prefers indy games since he's a big time nerd, so I had to build another PC for him

When playing Fornite or any other FPS games, did you notice any delay with the forced V-sync and aiming with the mouse? I'm toying with the idea of getting a series S to have a stable mouse and keyboard experience in Halo Infinite, but I am worried about the V-sync (I never play with games with it turned on)

I've been playing Halo Infinite on Xbox Series S with mouse and keyboard and it has been great. Feels like playing on a computer and controls feel amazing and responsive. But in other games v-sync can ruin the feel for sure. Dunno about Fortnite, haven't tried it yet.

Since making the comment I've done a bit of extra research and seen that getting a Series X and a 120fps monitor and running games in 120fps mode seems to be a good fix too. But my budget is series S focused right now and I only have a 60fps monitor.

It depends on your TV/Monitor. I am running it on a 4K120 E9 LG OLED that has VRR and Game Mode with low latency. It honestly feels like playing on a PC (Halo Infinite). I was super impressed.

Haven’t tried out a mouse and keyboard yet but I’m very happy with my series x. I was a pc gamer for years, took an extended break when I had kids. When the pandemic started, I wanted to dip my toe into gaming again, I started sourcing pc parts but realized it was getting stupid expensive so I sold it all off. Very happy with my decision, I’ve gone years without a pc, I got an iPad Pro that covers anything I need and the Xbox for gaming. Xbox is set up at a desk with a 27”QHD Monitor and never looking back lol

A friend of mine got an Xbox Series S for Christmas. I am really impressed with how tiny the console is and that the power brick is installed inside the console. From my use of the Xbox Series S (for the price) seems to be a great buy for entry into next gen gaming. I have a PC with an AMD quad core CPU, 8gb of RAM, and a Nvidia GTX 1060 and I think my PC performs better than the Xbox Series S. But I paid a lot more for my PC as compared to the Xbox Series S's price. I do very much like that Xbox is cross platform; meaning with one account I can play on Xbox Consoles (more than one but not at the same time) and PC.

I replaced my gaming PC with a Series S, main reason is that I wanted my PC to become more of a work/school machine. Honestly I'm happy that I did. While my PC looks and plays games better, I prefer to play it on Series S. The Xbox is so much quieter, loads up much faster and I just prefer the Quick Resume. Being able to play demanding games, then switching to a game without having to go trough the loading screen is such a big thing to me. I'll still keep some games on my PC, mainly stuff like Valheim that hasn't released on console. Good video btw, you earned a sub :D

I still honestly think that the Digital PS5 Version is the best in terms of value for a low price. Paying 100$ extra and getting the full next gen experience with DDR6 Ram, 120 fps at 1080p in almost every supported PS5 game and 4K/8K content on 60fps.

Now that Microsoft edge was added to xbox recently, pc games are now playable using geforce now. Pretty sure mouse and keyboard can be used also. Also I don't know anyone who uses mouse and keyboard for forza even on pc. That just seems weird. I couldn't do it just like I could never play resident evil 4 or dead space with mouse and keyboard. My God I remember watching a bunch of streamers trying to play those games with mouse and keyboard and it was torture and dizzy inducing watching them constantly try and jitter the mouse and camera around like there's free aim. Not only that but anytime an enemy would come up behind them they'd literally try and turn themselves around using the mouse or they would have to run forward a bunch instead of using the quick 180 turn button combo like on controller. No hate on mouse and keyboard at all especially for shooters but every single person I've watched who used a mouse and keyboard for those over the shoulder games was torture.

I play on my series x, no more headache messing with settings on pc. Sometimes hrs and hrs of pulling out my hair on pc. 4k 30 or 1440p 120 for the price is unmatched. You cant even come close with a pc at $500 you would have to drop $2500-3500 to compete. Gpu alone is equal to a 2080ti thats like $2000 right there. I love the Simplicity of console gaming and with the power of consoles now its the way to game atm.

The problem with Series S is on the developer side. For its specs it should be doing better than it is. A lot of games are running under 1080p which is silly You need a wireless keyboard and mouse that uses a dongle. Bluetooth isn’t supported on xbox. The xbox controllers have Bluetooth for pc use

The way I use a wireless mouse and keyboard to work on my Xbox Series S is to take a 4 port USB extension. Plug that into the Xbox and then plug in the wireless dongle into that adapter. It wont work with Bluetooth though since the Xbox does not support it. Works like a champ.

The s and the new 6500xt are similarly in performance. The s has done quite well in most games . Halo infinite is 1080p 60 in multiplayer, Fortnite is 1080p 120 , resident evil village is 1440p 60 . The s is quite good

@@bane2886 as a console gamer who has never owned a pc, Nana is right lol. I’m a happy Series S owner, but consoles are nowhere NEAR killing pc. PC is unmatched in terms of options, performance, viability, graphics, etc. You are way more restricted on console. Not many games support 120fps. Most shooters don’t have fov sliders. Performance is great for the Series S, but a PC can do much better with good specs (ofc it costs more money though). PC is much more viable since you can upgrade specs at any time and it can be used for way more than just gaming. Sure, console can do a couple things other than gaming, such as Entertainment & Web Browsing, but again nowhere near PC.

@@V1Salvo pc is more versatile but it cost a lot mor money just to build to the point that is not worth it ,I ‘ve been thinking of building a pc and let me tell you something most of pc gamers literally told me not to waste my money since I have a ps5 as I will spend more the double just to get a pc that perform similar , the crazy thing is not long ago I have seen a KZbin video where this KZbinr just bought a pc that costed $1k with a gtx 1060 on it ,I was shocked how low it performed for that price ,it was only doing 1080p medium ,low setting for 60fps where I paid $500 for a ps5 and it perform a lot more then that where most games are around 1440 to 4K with a frame rate from 30 to 120 fps . pc is good but it is overpriced now and for majority of people is a waste of money unless you want to spend $2k to get a gtx 3080 or 3090 graphic that will cost you about $5k to build that pc .

Thanks for your video :) I would like to highlight my only issue with this kind of setup and it is the mic/audio jack. My controller keeps auto-turn off, although I play with keyboard/mouse, I need the controller because of the mic/audio input. I thought leaving it on charger will solve this, but my charger {dual powera charging station} can't charge while headphone jack is plugged in. If you have any solution/workaround for this, would help a lot.

You can use a wireless mouse and keyboard combo or individual devices so long as they have a USB dongle. Corsair k63 and Dark core pro se tested this way on supported titles. The edge browser on xbox is better than it was but I'd avoid getting an xbox for college and buy a budget laptop separately to a gaming device as its much easier to have a portable product.
