What no one seems to talk about is squad morale, when a new manager comes in. When a new manager comes in, every player thinks great we all get a fresh opportunity. Players will struggle to respect a man, who doesn't even take a look at what they are capable of. If the new guy just signs a load of players immediately, he will struggle to convince the whole squad that they are united and rowing in the same direction.

I get we ended up with only 1 trophy. But this squad had us all excited for a Quad about 3 months ago.. people lose their heads every summer over our business, then are all seemingly surprised and on board with it when we start to do well. We need a DM and a left sided centre half.. tie down a few deals and we’re flying.

Sepp is a decent quality center back from everything I've been able to see online which take it for a grain of salt, but he's nowhere near Liverpool standard. He could be great at Leicester city or something like that, but we're talking about Champions, League winners and finalists and he's not on that level

What evidence you got for that? You watch Mainz a lot last season? How can you possibly assert that he's nowhere near Liverpool's level when he was the best CB at a club in the bundesliga? Remember we got a certain Matip from a very similar level club, playing at the exact same level. Remember Virgil at that age, was playing for Celtic in the scottish league. You've no idea if he's Liverpool level until you see him get a run of games.

I get what everyone here is saying, but what happens if at the end of assessing the squad, Slot goes: "Ok, we need a better DM, and another CB." e.g. And lo and behold, the prime targets are already picked off, and the choice becomes either an Arthur Melo situation or a Konate situation. Which do we prefer?

I feel FSG aren't expected much this season. It's been a project reset. They'll expect the club to peak after 3 orr 4 years. Much like when Klopp came in. On that basis I don't think they'll be much coming in this summer, it'll be spent on the big 3 contracts and the season will be used to build up the list of main targets for next season.

With sepp, cb’s need experience he has time on his side, if they rate him enough that they wanna keep him but he doesn’t want to be 5th choice then you gotta try and loan him to a psv, could gain champions league experience

Disappointed not to see Danns in that squad. I'm guessing that'll mean he's being loaned out. Not a massive fan of that if I'm honest. He showed enough last season to be given a chance this season, at least in the cup games. I feel that forwards who go out on loan tend to just get lost in that cycle, when in reality he should have been rewarded for last seasons meteoric rise. Now, there's every chance he'll go to Plymouth and learn absolutely nothing in that league and it could break his confidence. Doesn't look great from the club that. What's the message? "Right lads, get yourself in the first team, score goals, play brilliantly, have the best debut you could possibly ask for and what's your reward? Loaned to Plymouth." Brutal. The lad should be in the first team on merit.

Crazy decision. Imagine telling a kid right mate, go ahead, make your debut in the senior team, score goals, play brilliantly, burst on to the scene, by all means have the best possible debut.. and what's your reward? Next season you're out on loan to Plymouth. Unfair. I'd be fuming if I was him. He should have been in the first team on merit this year.

The channel just reports things being mentioned in the media, they know perfectly well it's mostly nonsense as are majority of sensible supporters. It's only Muppets who actually believe all these stories and cry because the owners don't spend billions of pounds every year on just anybody. Muppets want shiny new toys all the time even if they aren't as good as the toys we already have. Unfortunately it's the Muppets who shout louder, don't shoot the messengers, sensible supporters know how we do things and understand we have to allow our academy lads to get opportunities, why pay another club multiple millions for their kids when we might already have better at club. For me there isn't a no6 available who takes us up a level so why spend stupid money, but Muppets don't get that, to them promoting kids is seen as the owners refusing to spend money. Don't let them get to you mate, we know we have a great young squad who will only improve. I'm brought up on paisley so I'm quite relaxed about it and I really do think Arne Slots is the right man for the job, he plays Liverpool type football, pass n move , other than Alonso i believe we got the right man in, i say Alonso only because he played for us but slot has more experience and has excelled. In good hands imo and will improve and be good to watch. Keep the faith, we really don't need many new faces anyway and apart from calafiori there's nobody that is available in position we need worth crying over, he wanted a London club anyway. How comes nobody is really coming for sepp van den berg at the price set , because all of a sudden he is the best thing since sliced bread so surely we should be fighting teams off or he should already been sold . Liverpool fans over hype players a lot in fact this current squad is a good top four , carabou cup winning squad ,it certainly is not a premier league winning, champions league winning squad no way. In order to win league titles you must have consistent elite /world class players,we had mane firminio salah ..alison peak van dyke peak Robertson world class dm Fabinio trent ...fast forward 2024 nunez diaz gakpo injury prone jota endo . Liverpool can be better it depends on slot coaching if he can coach to bring levels up that can definitely help . Also player recruitment get players in that improve the team.
