I will break it down for women who suffer from amenorrhea AND women who have the nasty amenorrhea/overtraining combo to deal with. Did you experience overheating of your body during your overtraining process? I've been dealing with that, but I'm 75% recovered from Overtraining Syndrome. Ive had this condition for 2 months now. I got it from a prolonged workout routine of high intensity workouts and undereating. I gained 11 pounds and feeling more fully since then. My original symptoms were extremely bad. I had body sweats, extreme fatigue, nausea, and a little bit of insominia, but not as bad as others had.

Thank you for documenting your experience with overtraining! It's great to know I'm not alone. Have you had your cortisol and other hormone levels checked regularly throughout your recovery? Did you take any herbs to help speed your recovery?

I have not had any testing in a long time and do not consider myself at all recovered from OTS. I go by feel and right now the "feel" is that I am limited in my endurance and my body's capacity for exercise. It's been a lot of trial and error...mostly error when I get too excited and add more training. I have been on a steady routine for 7 months and it's sustainable (with some ups and downs) but I have a long way to go. I have not taken supplements...it's just not my thing :)

Hi sorry me again. But this morning I was up 0.4kg , the past days I have also been going up so in 5 days I gained 2 pounds with very little exercise but eating 2000. I feel like this isn't normal it's too quick, or is it normal? Would it be my period ? How much weight do girls normally gain before there period and does it go up gradually or all at once.. I'm praying the weight isn't real and it might be my period? I don't know I don't have any other symptoms

i follow your advices and today i saw spots so i am proggresing but i like to train crossfit , if i am get the three period consecutive do you thing that i could return to train crossfit?

The truth is that we just don't know. Most women find that they are more sensitive to exercise and poor diet once they have experienced HA. It is important to progress slowly and notice if you are experiencing either: longer cycles, painful PMS symptoms, or a return to HA...you know you are doing too much.

This is an excellent question. It is really making me think... I can tell you that it took me over 2 years to get so far down the hole with training that I ended up with Overtraining Syndrome. So far, it's been a year and I am not back to feeling 100% at all. Of course, I am hyper-vigilant about maintaining my hormonal health and with that as a priority, I don't push myself beyond what feels totally comfortable. I am sure that there are people who come back faster...some who take longer... Right now, I have different priorities, but I never say never :)

I stopped exercise for 1 week (+ 2 weeks very little exercise) eating the same 2000 cals and gained 2 pounds so far in 3 weeks I am so scared I will keep gaining!

This is a very common fear, I assure you! But, it's normal and the weight gain is your body healing itself. Hang on! Bravery is everything right now. You can do it!

😭 I know it's only been 3 weeks but I am seriously seeing so many changes of appearance already which is. Making me super sad I don't know how long it will take and I don't think I will add any more food 2000 is what my body used to eat on exercise now I don't I feel so much less hungrier but I still make myself eat the same, would you think that's enough for my body to heal? Some people say u have to eat at least 2500

I feel like I am going crazy , I lost it for 4 years now I finally stopped exercise I just pray for my period to come everyday and thinking of it everyday lol x
