Dude, I've learned a lot from you. Keep doing what you are doing. Also, the camera looks great.

I have Martin Logan ceiling speakers for surround and back surround and they work really well with my Denon 6800 H, especially for Atmos.

I had a bit of a laugh when I put some surrounds in the ceiling. A character who was meant to walk around behind you sounded like they were walking around in the floor above the room I was in. Not quite so scary. It was in a lounge, and I did, however, answer the door once when someone knocked in the left hand surround speaker.

Paradigm 30degrees angle in-ceiling speakers are good. I’m moving my LCR around and I have just my Top Front running as L&R and it’s so good it’s actually wrong (I did my angle math wrong) the sounds come out of top of my TV

If in-wall speakers or traditional speakers in the room are absolutely not an option, then a passive soundbar under the TV could be a decent compromise option. At least the audio is coming from the correct direction. Though you aren't really getting proper separation between the LCR channels. But unlike a fully in-ceiling setup, it's a compromise I can live with.

Yes I agree. The main issue we often run into is output. Many of those soundbars that match the depth and width of the TV have very limited output. But I agree. I would prefer a good soundbar over an all in ceiling system.

@@PoesAcoustics True, we're not going to get cinema level output from most passive soundbars. The brand new slim JTR center channel seems like a promising option. No details or release date on it yet though. I also spoke to Geoffrey at Ascendo about making a passive soundbar. He was open to the idea of building a custom version of their 6" narrow on-wall speaker with three in a single bar. But the price for a custom order like that was nearly double the cost of just buying three seperate speakers.

Love the channel. Just picked up the Sonos Arc Ultra, Sub 4, and the 300's. WOW, just wow. When will you be reviewing the Sonos Arc Ultra? Thanks in advanced.

I probably wouldn’t be reviewing that. It’s not the type of product I typically review. Because it’s not a component we would use in a serious high end home media room or theater, it’s not something that makes a lot of sense for me to review. It’s not a knock on the product. It’s just not something that fits into what we do. I’ve reviewed many impressive lifestyle products in the past. But at this point my day to day are high end home theaters that typically cost $150,000 to $1 million+++, and a Sonos Bar would be the kind of thing we would stick in the spare bedroom. I do know that Sonos makes great products for what they are. Performance is very good for the money. Their ecosystem is robust. Their recent software snafu not withstanding, it’s a brand I often recommend.

For good in-ceiling speakers, you mentioned Perlisten and KEF. You also mentioned newer Sonance stuff as being decent. Which Sonance product line do you recommend?
@PoesAcousticsКүн бұрын
The product that has external consultant design and engineering was the VX and VXQ series. Both are decent for what they are. The other stuff from Sonance is not great. I wasn’t impressed. But this stuff surprised me.
