Could an American free thinker survive Pakistan's blasphemy laws? THAT'S THE REAL QUESTION! The Democratic party will continue to fail if they continue to protect totalitarian theocratic ideologies under the pretense of "tolerance". Tolerance indeed is a virtue, but so is examined critical thinking, reciprocity, fair expectation, and self preservation. The ancient tolerant buddhists of Afghanistan, (now extinct), were not virtuous by these refined rules.

If it is useful comes the double standard. Many liberals support things concerning the Muslim world, and know nothing about it. Just as part of the left. I am a leftist, but not blind and deaf.

"totalitarian theocratic ideologies", you must be talking about Ted Cruz, Jeff Sessions, Buchanan, Pence, etc.

No. Blasphemy laws protect mythology. Anti-nazi laws protect the truth.

ralphinator2: What is a "Nazi"? Who is a "Nazi"? What laws do we have that favor these "Nazis"? The leftists are using this term "Nazi" soo much to slander anybody who argues a point that the term has completely lost any meaning.

Such a sad story, one of countless. Hope the kid survives and gets his treatment. Nobody more than the purity left is responsible for putting this monstrosity in the White House, making the lives of millions of people a living hell. Hope those Harambe write-ins truyly pay off for the fuckers when the admin. stumbles into nuclear war with NK or better yet, a full-fledged war with Russia in Syria

Who is paying for all this medical treatment?

You are. OUr tax dollars going to healthcare for non citizens, while we have American children of every race starving and suffering. They all come to the US to have their babies and seek medical care. In the Houston Medical center, there's special hotels, and roll out the red carpet for foreigners to get medical care, while the poor go untreated and die. Its sickening. Maybe in addition to NATO and the Worlds Peace Organization, we should have a World Healthcare system, where these poor people and poor americans from every nation can get free healthcare.

So you think we should spend more money on food stamps for American citizens? Or maybe instead we should raise wages so their parents can afford to feed their own children.

"..as a result of the heart surgery". Does that mean medical malpractice (for which Mt. Sinai should foot subsequent bills in the US and Pakistan) or bad luck? The case seems to be the odd one a Class A teaching hospital would grab. Why did it get this far down the ICE road? There must be more than the impetuous The Donald Democracy Now! blames.

Pakistan, what a progressive country with a 1st world way of looking at things. Yes, anybody could go to Pakistan and not only be safe, but could probably get top-rate medical service. Yes, we should carve out some land so we let this glorious culture spread its delights. We could only be so lucky to become like Pakistan.

You know Pakistan is famous for producing doctors, right? Pakistan makes so many doctors it's become a stereotype.
