I am a Pakistani American, and the first neighborhood we moved to, when immigrating to U.S. in 1990, was Jewish Neighborhood of Kew Gardens in Queens, NY. I really miss that neighborhood. Brother, I have high regard for Jewish people here in USA, and this is the beauty of America, it is perhaps the only county in the Whole World, which gives us all the liberty and freedom to practice our own religion, so long as as we also abide by and respect the local laws and constitution of the United States. I was about 12 years of age, when moving to U.S. and after moving here, I made friends with Jews from US, as well as Israel and Kazakstan, and other former Russian republics, of course also have a ton of Christians, and many Hindus, Sikhs and Budhists, friends and coworkers. Only in America, this sort of pluralism and intermixing is possible, in such a vast array of human cultures, living side by side. Yes, there are some issues, and again here in U.S. there are also solutions, and truth comes out. Discrimination and hatred also does exists, as it does everywhere else in this World, but again U.S. people try to stop and think, and try to figure out a better way, to tolerate and learn to live with one another, and vast majority of American people are very tolerant and really don't care, who their neighbor are, as long as we all respect the laws of the land, and respect one another.

I think people don't realize how diverse Pakistan is, and that lends itself to how successful Pakistanis are in integrating into all cultures! From a racial and ethnic perspective, Pakistan has people from across South Asia as well as people whose features are European or Chinese or Central Asian or African, and they have all been living on that land for centuries. And geographically, Pakistan has everything from the world's highest peaks to beautiful beaches, forests, deserts and canyons. Pakistan also has places of historic religious significance to not just Muslims but also Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists as well as of course the Christian influences which came from British colonization. We have so much diversity because we are at the edge of so many distinct civilizations, including India, China, Russia, Persia, Turkic and Arab. Hopefully we are able to achieve greater security and prosperity because Pakistan has so much potential.

I really don’t understand the hypocrisy of this series. South Asians (not only Pakistanis but also Indians and Bangladeshis) run to the West for a better life, a better future and security. After getting their hands on that passport, why do they keep cribbing about discrimination or racism? Do you really expect us to believe that South Asia is free from the problems you gratuitously attribute to the west? Do we not know how Shias, Hazaras, Hindus, Muhajirs are treated in Pakistan? Every country in the world has problems - then why did you choose to run to the West? You could have stayed in your countries and cribbed there all you want. In South Asia, we would call this “namak haram” - unfaithful to the salt that feeds you, which in this case is America. If you cannot assimilate, then don’t immigrate. You can’t have the cake and eat it too.
@harisadu89983 жыл бұрын

@mohamedfaizan98443 жыл бұрын
@@RS-ti7bz I’m not saying that the West is blameless. Of course there is racism and ignorance there as well. But the choice to move West is completely voluntary - it was not forced on them (unlike African Americans who were enslaved and didn’t have a choice). If they don’t like it, Pakistan/ India will welcome them back with open arms. But they will never do that, because they know what lies there, and why they left in the first place. I’m just saying that one who stays in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones at others. First, it is our duty as Muslims to bring egalitarianism to our countries/ communities. The way we treat our minorities is horrible, there is no denying this fact. So blaming the West for minor inconveniences is indeed hypocrisy.

@mohamedfaizan98443 жыл бұрын
@@RS-ti7bz Yes, that I agree with you. Except that it doesn’t happen in reality. As an Indian Muslim myself who grew up in the Middle East, I know very well how the Arab locals treated us “lowly” South Asians, both Muslim and non Muslim. One word out of place and they would threaten us with deportation or jail. Forget citizenship, the Gulf states would not even give permanent residency, even if you lived there for decades. When my dad lost his job after 18 years working there as an accountant, he was kicked out in a matter of a few months. And it’s not just the Gulf states. Coptic Christians in Egypt, Houthis in Yemen, Yazidis in Iraq, the Pandits in Kashmir, Hindus in Pakistan, anyone who is not Sunni in Afghanistan, among many others - the list is long. We have either purged them away, or treat them as second class citizens in their own country. We obviously don’t practise what we preach. So seeing these Pakistani Americans (voluntary economic migrants who are not even ethnic minorities), enjoying all the benefits, rights and opportunities of American citizenship, and then cribbing about some degree of racism that you would face anywhere in the world, really gets my goat. The energies of Muslims would be better spent in cleaning our own house first before pointing fingers at others. This holier than thou attitude is exactly why we are in crisis after crisis and have no moral standing in the global stage today.

Thank God we migrated to Toronto from Pakistan. There is no racism discrimination like our ppl face in the US no matter how far they come in achieving thr American dream. Plus the migrants in Canada came with education and money so the community is just structured better and we contribute greatly to the city.

It’s hard to care about a community when you know they don’t give a shit about yours. When’s the last time any of these guys were outraged over stop and frisk affecting blacks? How many of those same taxi drivers would drive past a black person?

I'm sorry about the hurt you have about not feeling supported. Please know that there are people out there who try to support the Black community the best they can. As a former salesperson, my boss told me that I don't need to really help "them" because "they'll" buy anything with the lots of money "they" have (insert horrible stereotype here). Well of course I didn't listen to his snide racist remarks and gave my customer, who was looking for a present for his sister, the best customer service ever. I think he kind of looked surprised, but I make it my mission to give people hope that there are people in the world who care and value communities such as yours and all other oppressed people. God bless ❤ Btw, my heritage is Pakistani

Salaam Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity. It's very hard to do in this day and age. People can be, somewhat very superficial. On my quest to achieve this I have learnt a lot about human nature. It seems to me that those who are not given traits such as beauty or being wealthy are some of the nicest, kindest and generous people. While the "gorgeous" and well off seem to be the most arrogant and greedy people out there. Of course that's not to say there aren't beautiful kind people out there. I've been in the process of change for a while now and I have made some decent changes but don't you just hate it when people can't let go of your past mistakes. I saw your profile and it intrigued me. I wanted to learn more about who you are and what type of path you would like on in life. Can we talk?

The name of this neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY is Midwood. It was historically almost entirely Jewish. It is the second largest Jewish enclave in the Americas right after Borough Park which is also located in Brooklyn and is very close by. Borough Park could very well be the largest Jewish enclave in the world 🌎 outside of Israel 🇮🇱. The famous Jewish actor/writer/director Woody Allen 🤡👿 was born and raised in Midwood. Most of the Pakistani 🇵🇰 business are located on Coney Island Ave. which is the main thoroughfare in Midwood. There are still many Orthodox and Hasidic Jews as well as Jewish immigrants that live alongside the Pakistanis 🇵🇰. There are also many Pakistanis 🇵🇰 who live in nearby Brighton Beach and Sheepshead Bay which were also historically Jewish neighborhoods.

This is akin to the rubbish of barging into Iraq allegedly for having WMD ! Good to know that Pakistanis who can't properly practise Islam in Pakistan itself can do so, though with restrictions, in NY.
