I can tell you a way to get back to normal without reflux as I used to eat hot spicy food until I had reflux like crazy and I found I could eat spicy no matter how hot and by eating a simple fruit after the meal like apple, orange etc and I wouldn't even get the reflux and never had it since

Been there and tried it. Among friends and family, I'm known as the "iron gut". This burrito ain't that spicy to me but I barely broke sweat. Thru the years I have trained my body the immunity to tolerate the species of the spicy. Fact: Milk won't help but it makes it worse, in ending results..., the morning after "lava snakes". To counter balance that spice, whiskey. Have a shot or two of whiskey, it might sting a little bit but it helps with proper digestion without flaming hot poos. I was here a week ago with my cousin, he took two bites and tapped out. He looks at me while I'm eating. "Man, nothing gets past you. I take two bites and I'm sweating like I left the gym but it seems like it doesn't faze you." That ladies and gentlemen is why I'm called the Iron Gut. Nothings too hot if you're use to it.

Alcohol actually helps get rid of some of the capsaicin. So I totally agree with the whiskey, The tamest pepper in my garden is 100,000 Scoville so my family is pretty good with spicy stuff.

After much trial and error my limit for eating sauce on food is 2 million scoville. I tried a drop of The End from the Pepper Palace (6 million scoville) and burnt my taste buds for a few days similar to drinking hot coffee or hot chocolate that wasn't cooled off enough. My insides hurt just watching this.

You build tolerance overtime, for example Sriracha's essentially ketchup for me now and those spicy samgyup whatever noodles are just mildly spicy for me. You really gotta build it slowly like with seedless bell peppers first
