The number of times I have had this conversation -I don't even know. It's being taught in Catholic Schools even! We should be hearing these things from the pulpit. Thank you much for your bravery to speak out again and evangelize! I will be sharing this video with many people! You come from a place of love and it shows. It is what Our Lord did here on earth. If we approach with love, we will reach many more! Praying for your wonderful ministry as always!! Blessings to you and your lovely family.

do Catholics not know the rosary is a form of meditation? also, if you are doing yoga just for the stretches, then just do pilates instead.
@mommab19693 жыл бұрын
@@crobeastness yoga is meditation that takes your focus off of Our Heavenly Father and places it on something else. While the rosary is a sacramental which is given to us as a gift to help draw us closer into prayer asking for intercession from Our Lady which draws us closer to Our Lord. Jesus made us to know, love and serve Him-not ourselves or other gods.
@crobeastness3 жыл бұрын
@@mommab1969 I didn't say they were the same form of meditation. Pretty much opposites in the way they operate. Also, the rosary is a gift, not a sacrament though.

Thank you for bringing clarity to the issue. I am a certified Yoga instructor and as a catholic, I feel conflicted because I enjoy my Christian Yoga practice, but I agree that Yoga is not a Catholic practice.

You should stop being a Yoga instructor. The positions themselves are worship positions to the Hindu gods which are actually demons.

I will never step into a yoga class EVER again. I hear you, brother. I went to yoga classes. I checked because I heard that it was not a good thing for Catholics but I heard that it was okay if it was just exercise. After doing it for a while, I felt it wasn't right. I would pray the rosary during the session. I stopped. Then I found out that what I was doing was praising other gods. Someone else asked me if they should do it and I said no, I wouldn't. I then asked her to ask her brother-in-law who was a Catholic deacon. He said it was okay because was just exercise. Turn away from it. People are saying this but once you start reading the bible every day, it instructs you. Please, people! Get close to God and His mother. Say the rosary every day. Meditate on the mysteries of our Lord and His Holy Mother. Finally, when I heard from an exorcist that we shouldn't do it and he spoke to a Hindu priest. He didn't go into the specifics but said the poses are adoration poses to different gods. We have been confused, deliberately, or purposely it doesn't matter. Our faith is being corrupted from within.

Great video! I've been teaching these things about Yoga for years. Every time I do, someone gets upset about hearing the truth. The spirits empowering Yoga are some of the most stubborn I've encountered. People usually have the same objections, "It makes me feel good"; I'm so much healthier since is started doing Yoga" ; "My back is much better:; etc. I've seen major deliverance from spirits that have come in through the practice of Yoga (even "for just exercise"). The very word itself means to "join to". What are we joining to when we practice Yoga and take on those poses of worship? The pantheistic gods fo Hinduism. Yogis themselves indicate that if you practice the physical long enough, the spiritual joining will eventually happen. No Christian should be taking part in Yoga at all!!

I would like to start by clarifying yoga and then I can describe why I do not do it. Yoga is a practice that is related to The Vedas. The Vedas or the Veda is the ancient spiritual text of India. The upanishads are a spiritual text from India that is considered the conclusion of the Veda. So it is called vedanta (Vedic conclusion) the upanishads are very numerous but can be distilled into one conclusion, that there is only one true God. The purpose of yoga is for this reality of one true God to be revealed. Yoga is not Asana or postures. Yoga includes these postures but it is much more than that. My practice of Gnana yoga (yoga through contemplation) lasted many years. My goal through this practice was to experience revelation of the one true God. Of course, there is idle worship associated with many forms that yoga takes throughout the many cults in India. But the true purpose of yoga is what is revealed in the upanishads. When yogis describe the true Self , they are talking about god. Not some self of a person which is somehow their true nature. The purpose of yoga is to establish the understanding that only God is real. Yoga asks the question, who is it who really sees? Who is it who really experiences? Is it me or is it God? The answer is that it is only God. The conclusion of yoga is that we cannot make offerings to God because all belongs to God. We cannot even offer ourselves to God because we are God's creation and we belong to him. With that said, the reason I no longer practice yoga is because I want to know and follow Christ. Christ does not invite me to do these subtle practices to increase my awareness of the reality that only God is real, but rather he invites me to give my whole self to God through him. I want to do what Christ wants me to do and so I do not do yoga. But I will say that my understanding of Christianity as the true way emerged from my practice of yoga. What is the purpose of life? To give our whole self to God. How do we do that? Through Christ. I hope this is somehow helpful, especially to those who practice yoga

Have you heard of Soulcore? If not, it's designed to use the prayers of the Rosary and meditate on those prayers while doing stretches used in Yoga. Is this still considered a conflict and against the 1st Commandment? A friend has invited me and I'm unsure about participating due to the reasons you pointed out in your video. Thank you in advance for your answer.

I am not familiar with it. In a general sense postures in and of themselves are neutral. Meditation and prayer are good.

Have done Yoga for 3 years in the past. Did not think it was a religious experience. Did it for the stretches because it was required in my dance class. Also, have played with a Ouija board as a teenager and nothing happened.
@chrisbraymusic3 жыл бұрын
Just because nothing happened doesn’t mean that it’s not a sin against the commandment of God. Are you suggesting the Bible permits using mediums like the Ouija board or since you didn’t get possessed by using it, it’s therefore acceptable in God’s sight?
@GLSoap3 жыл бұрын
If you're using it like a game. It shouldn't be a sin. Don't need a board to connect with spirits, they can come to you in your dreams. Think real Mediums can help people in different ways that is what I've heard from one.
@chrisbraymusic3 жыл бұрын
@@GLSoap that’s not what God commands. In 1 Sam 28, Saul conjures Samuel from the dead via a medium (for noble reasons I would add) yet is STILL breaking God’s law and God consequences Saul for it...

I'm a yoga teacher, I teach at a gym, and I go to daily mass. I don't see an issue with it. I've asked the priest at my parish and he said it was okay. Yoga is shown to manage PTSD, because it stimulates the vagus nerve through deep breathing, and stimulates growth in the insula and hippocampus. I have had PTSD. Namaste is like saying Aloha. It is a greeting and a goodbye term that can be used for both scenarios.

“Namaste” literally means “I bow to you” however in the context of yoga and Hindu spirituality has religious overtones: It is found in the Vedic literature. Namas-krita and related terms appear in the Hindu scripture Rigveda such as in the Vivaha Sukta, verse 10.85.22[9] in the sense of "worship, adore", while Namaskara appears in the sense of "exclamatory adoration, homage, salutation and worship" in the Atharvaveda, the Taittiriya Samhita, and the Aitareya Brahmana. It is an expression of veneration, worship, reverence, an "offering of homage" and "adoration" in the Vedic literature and post-Vedic texts such as the Mahabharata” As someone who leads a yoga class, it would be prudent to investigate this more thoroughly. As I said in the video, individual stretches are not the issue, but paired with the context of the practice of yoga spirituality is directly contrary to Scripture and incompatible with Catholicism as it breaks the first commandment (as does bowing in adoration and worship of another human, which is what namaste is). Peace,
